me too, I have math dyslexia and I was bitten by my parents all the time when I was a kid, when I can't answer the flash card fast. I'm doing this to overcome my fear of numbers and childhood trauma.

I'm currently 2nd year engineering student and we are in a sem break and enrollment week so I have a lot of time but I'm bored at home. I just came across to a yt shorts where grade schoolers calculate addition and subtration with their hands quickly. So I decided to find a video to learn how to use abacus hahaha. This video helps a looooot! ❤ I'm gonna watch more~ The activities are fun!!!

Very nice lesson.
I was mental arithmetic champion in Texas but had never learned abacus methods.
I plan to start teaching this to any new students. Even though this is not particularly the way I think when it comes to numbers, this looks extremely effective for kinesthetic or visual learners.
Those in particular are the students that often have difficulty in lessons even though they may have great computational brains.
This particular abacus skills is very useful for below 14 yrs kids...by practicing regularly they will do miracles

Still preferred to count in my head. When I was at school, the teacher was saying if I can't count in my head, try to use my fingers it will make it easier... so probably it will be easier, but as adults, you can't count on your fingers. Fun game for kids, not for adults

Thank you for structuring the video this way! The flash card activity at 5:40 is super efficient. Like after learning in the first part video the fingers combination, just visualizing the beads was enough for me to start trying it with fingers, it's impressive how fast you get the technic!
