More over, it's been relatively easy to come across (in my daily research findings) examples of failures of this autocratic system (wherein power is consolidated by one person at the top[Putin]).
Thereby, creating a system where people within that system are afraid to speak truth to power - an inability for Russian Henchmen/Oligarchs to communicate to the Person at the top - openly, about the critical (pernicious) issues facing their country economically, militarily and technologically.
ie. An increasingly isolated and unaware Vladimir 'Presitator' Putin.

It is quite possible that this is because Russia has been messing around with former French colonies in Africa (Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso), and threatening France's supplies of Uranium and other precious metals. Great way to turn a semi-neutral party into a full-blown opponent. Wonder who Russia will annoy next?

Considering the news that the Republicans pushed through aid to Israel without aid to Ukraine over the weekend has me deeply concerned that we will not get the United States back on track for supporting the people who will keep us out of a war instead of supporting the people who will drag us into their war

Everyone seems to be missing an important point: that a battalion size attack is considered to be huge. Russia has one of the largest armies in the world. One would think that attacks would be made by at least a division. When a reinforced task force is considered to be a major attack by a major power, something is very wrong at the operational level.
They are stretched across 1 thousand kilometres. They concentrate their forces in one place and that ensbles something like the landings on the Dnipro east bank.
@@malcolmgibson5088 if the second biggest army in the world cannot hold a 600 mile front and still mount a divisional level assault against a third or fourth rate military, then something is very wrong with the Russian army. Even in the beginning of the war, when operations were being conducted by the professional Russian forces, their command/control/logistical elements proved incapable of conducting anything more than local tactical operations. After those early issues they should have declared victory, proclaimed a victory, declared a unilateral peace, and then consolidated the territory that they had taken in the south that protected Crimea. Europe would have sighed a sigh of relief and put their collective heads back under the sand. Now they have a tiger by the tail and don’t know how to let go. Even if they succeed in taking over all of Ukraine their strategic and economic situation has deteriorated significantly! Europe has started re-arming, NATO has expanded, the US has absorbed much of Russia’s prewar petroleum market, and Russia’s conventional forces have been seriously reduced. T Russia has already lost.

Not a military person myself, but maybe General Oleksandr Syrsky & Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, in addition to Ukraine's successful strikes on Russian refineries and its trespassing navy, could be persuaded to take out a few key railway switch-points and bridges now, in order to disrupt supply lines somewhere in oblasts beyond the Russian border? Not waiting on Ukraine's special gift, in the run-up to or even on Russia's Victory Day parade, no doubt?
The problem is railway logistics are relatively easy to repair.

Sorry for the slow progress from our governments in the EU. Hopefully, it is just the habitual democratic slowness, and eventually the flow of arms will turn into a torrent when we have got our military industries running.

It isn’t. It’s self interest. Most of the EU and NATO have no intent to supply Ukraine with anything material in the timeframe the UA needs it. It’s all just empty EU rhetoric and advertising, while sponging off other more productive countries. Dream on with that ‘hope.’

I’ve heard conflicting reports on Russian artillery. I know they keep digging up older and older rust buckets to drag to the front but at a rate of 40/day they got to run out significantly in 3-6 months
One report that I watched this morning estimated that they have tank (mostly obsolete T-64s) reserves enough to last 18 months to 2 years. But if tanks have to take up the job of the soon to be depleted artillery, the tank reserves would then last 12 to 16 months.
The thing is, that by depleting their reserves, they also have no way to maintain control over their borders or to keep Georgia or several other minority regions in their fold.

Are we starting to see the Orcs having to cut back on artillery because they had so many pieces destroyed?
I think we are on the cusp of russian artillery systems collapsing. Their first choice systems are going to replaced by more and more towed systems, plus their ammunition advantage is rapidly declining (basically, they have fired off their North Korean/ Iranian ammunition)and they might have to field older systems that they have ammunition stocks for, but which are in a different calibre . A logistic nightmare is looming for the russian supply troops.

In this case of the tank at 3:10 is it called a 'Brew up' as it looks like a tea kettle brewing up. ;)
Being a fellow CW I would think you would know that ;) Cookoff is usually reserved when ammo starte to 'fire' all over the place. Like when an AT or Grad is hit. 'Turret Toss' is the new one in this war as it happens allot.
Cookoff is when ammo fires or detonate at a time not wanted,, this due to heat,, the ammo is cocked, ,, fire a machinegun and have a round it the hot chamber, and you risk a cookof,,, in a tank, the ammo is cooked by fire in other material than the ammo,, then the ammo might ignite and just burn, we see that when the propellent charges in the tank burn rapidly,, this can then lead to the explosive sheels detonate,,=big bada bum
@@cmtwgrdk2748I just telling you the solider slang. If all cases of a brew up the ammo cooks off. Cook off can also refer when you are unloading a Ma Duce and the round on the bolt 'Cooks off' before you have a chance to clear it out of the breach (no so bad) or when you clear a stoppage and the live round falls onto a pile of hot brass and cooks of, a very bad thing as that can spoil your entire day.
In British military " Brew up" is when we boil water for a cup of tea.

Just want to add that France is giving Ukraine some VAB (Véhicule Avant Blindé). I am very familiar with these and even got to drive one during my time in the French army, they are great for troop transport but also come in a variety of adaptations including NBC combat. In addition to this the VAB is amphibious (T1 and T2 only) (T3 has extra armour that cancels that capability) and can cross rivers and lakes with ease. It's old but not as old as the Russian equipment seen on the battlefield. 😉
France has loads of these VABs, I personally visited warehouses full of them, new and waiting to be sent out, although that was many years ago, the french army is very good at keeping it's equipment in good running order, so hopefully, many more will be given to Ukraine in the future.

Everyone loves the turret toss. I can't imagine the amount of force needed. Per a Slovakian article those weigh 12 to 17 metric tons on a T-72. The BMP3 turret adds 5.5 tons to the vehicle... about the weight of 3 F-150 trucks.
