    This is very inspiring - I can't let go of my scraps, so this is perfect.

    What perfect timing! I can't believe you released this today! I was going to go on the Community and search, or post a question if needed, about using scraps, and before I could get to that, I got your email. I am excited to watch the whole series. Thank you so much!

    This is so timely as I have been contemplating ways to use my scraps. I did some piecing for a jacket lining last night but not patchworked in multiple colors. Thanks Ladies!🥰

    I am going to use. Sweatshirt fabric and color block.

    Great timing! I’ve been trying to organize my scraps and have pivoted to quilting to try to use some up. I would like to see some recommendations for stretch and bottom weight scraps.

    I love this so much and I'm thinking a Laura wrap skirt would look great, but might need some finishing so you don't see the back side of the fabric.

      If you have a serger maybe you could serge the seam allowances and topstitch them down so it looks clean on the back side of the fabric too.

    I've done this with the Elizabeth Suzann Georgia top, which is really similar in feel to the Seamwork Bo top. I actually pieced together pieces of the same fabric color and top stitched the SA down to make a really subtle patchwork.

      Love that! It's a really fun way to create unique fabric.

    You can totally do this with knit fabrics too, just don't combine wovens and knits in the same patchwork yardage. I have pieced fabric together from several thrift shop t-shirts that are too small for me to make fabric for new garments in my size.

      I've been wanting to try this. Zero Waste Daniel does this, and I've always wondered about grainline. Do you mind the grainline when you do this with knits?

    • @SeamworkVideo
      @SeamworkVideo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely pay attention to grainline since knits can have different stretch percentages along the grain and cross grain.

    The Bo t-shirt would work well as it has simple lines

    Hi! I love Seamwork patterns and have purchased materials to make patchwork yardage. I have a question: Why would I trace-off a PDF pattern? I do this for print patterns that I know I won't be able to purchase when they go out of print, but a PDF? And, I am a consumer, not in a sewing profession. Thanks in advance for your answer :).

      @SewingandSnakes Your method sounds like it really works for you! I do grading as well.

    How do you make the curved seam lay flat?

    • @SeamworkVideo
      @SeamworkVideo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Because one side of the curve is the convex shape and the other is concave, they naturally fit together and lay flat when they are sewn together. If you sewed a curve to a straight line, that would not be the case.
