    After making this video I found that I could do upscales much faster. It seems that trying to record and do the upscaling may have been the issue. If you run into long times when upscaling try rebooting your PC and make sure you are doing nothing else while upscaling. On my system with an i5 and Nvidia 3070 it only took 5-10 minutes to upscale when I tested later.

      That makes sense being that the GPU is used in both situations.

      You have good GPU sir and ImO upscaling should be faster than 5 minutes

    thanks for the upscale info....didn't know how to set that up...had grainy pictures and after Upscaling they were soft as heaven. and when I don't upscale, the face looks like hell, no details etc with juggernaut p.e. - but I only used upscale 2x - so great to have the upscale-without-enhancement option. again... thanks so much!!!

    I find using kaggle or colab for upscaling works best because it seems to require more gpu vram over just generating an image.

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      I have been doing that more lately. Although I have determined that if I minimize my browser windows and anything using the GPU it will kick in very quickly. I have to do that often when inpainting since it often upscales. Only takes a few seconds of having the browser minimized and it start going again.

    Your video is extremely helpful and very clear to follow and understand. As a relatively new user to Fooocus my image (forest scene) lacks the sharpness I would like to see especially if I want to print it out poster size. I rendered it out at 1728 x 576, but when I upscaled it as per your video, the image lacked detail and was rather blurry. I suspect I overlooked something but I don't know what. If you can offer a suggestion I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      Sometimes it can depend on the image. I tend to find that stuff with extreme detail can be hard to get to a large enough size to print a poster with just something like Fooocus. Why I've never tried to get anything photographic Type image printed very large. I normally upscale in focus and then depending on the image will upscale in something else like upscaly. I do have a video on that but doesn't go into extreme detail just the basics of using it. Then there are other options but those definitely start to cost money.

      @@KLEEBZTECH Thanks for your help. After reading your reply a couple of questions popped up for me. When you want to create a new image, what resolution do you usually begin with? Also, have you ever created your own custom resolution size/s for Fooocus and if so, do they work for you?

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      As for the resolution I choose whatever is best for what I am creating for from the recommended ones since those work best. For example I do a lot with video so will use something like 1344×768. I don't really use custom ones since it can result in not so great outcomes in my experience. Especially if you try to go larger since SDXL really is not good with that. I will often crop the image when done if I need it a specific size after any upscaling.

    is there a way to deactivate the de-noise feature, but let the enhancement make it's way when I check "Upscale 2x"? the Softness it produces with the "nightvisionXL V9" Model is terrible

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      If upscaling and do not want it to change the image much then you can either use the fast 2x upscale which does not change anything or you can go into the debug menu and in the control section there is options for adjust those values. I do not have it available to give you the exact names that you are looking for though.

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      You don't. That you can do with many image editors. GIMP is one for example. It really does not change the image itself.

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      Hard to say but I have learned that if limited hardware it is best to minimize browser windows and everything when upscaling since it will work better.

    What does Ctrl+C do in the console ? Is it like a refresh?

    • @KLEEBZTECH

      It will usually stop whatever is happening but can sometimes get it moving. Although I think just hitting enter can as well so probably better. I did discover and plan on a new video on upscaling that will give a tip about minimizing browser window for a few seconds to get upscaling to start. Whenever I do anything that needs upscaling including some of the inpainting I minimize the browser window for a few seconds when it first starts and that seems to get things working quickly.
