    I wish T&T just take Track and Field and sport for that matter seriously. I think there is lots of potential but it's not being harnessed because we don't really put in anything to have a high level of competitiveness in Track and Field and the sport generates little interest from the public at large because there is no effective marketing and no incentives to do it.

      same here...I wish the Jamaican establishment would take track and field more seriously...if they did; Jamaica would have more sponsorship for junior athletics, they would fix the problems with boys and girls champs, issa and the Jaaa.

    Running in the outside lane means she ran more than 200m. She wouldn't be disqualified unless she impeded another athlete. If she ran on the inside line or crossed to the inside lane then she would be disqualified.

      It’s always okay to run into the outside lane and on the straight away to the inside lane if you don’t hamper any athlete when you do.

    To 21 year old male:. If it is the same race, I am thinking of when Alaina Reid ran, I recall Jamaica getting, first & second place. Trinidad got the bronze. However, there was a second race, Alaina did not run. The Trinidadian was first, the Jamaican was second. I don.t recall it was the same Jamaican who landed the Trini on the bronze earlier. Think about this: We are all human. However, Jamaica being stubbornly dominant, brings a sour taste to a lot of mouths. In the 4x400?? think my figured are accurate. But certainly under 17.: .While the runners were standing & waiting to position themselves, I witnessed one of the runners, probly. Bahamian, glaring down a Jamaican runner while walking to her own position. The Jamaican reflexively & boldly reasserted herself; I saw the Jamaican.s
    body language instantly change. She kept swinging both of her arms sidewards as if to suggest "so then bring it on". I am sure this was all reflexive; as the Jamaican was clearly in shock. Put the hard feelings down.please. We are all from carib. isles. When the bigger guns come, it.s an us versus them game.

      I think the rules allows for stepping on the outside lane as it means you run more. Its when you step on the inside lane, which gives you a shorter distance to run that is grounds for disqualification.

    • @castatroy
      @castatroy ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Guess what!! to be the best you have to compete and a part of that is learning the whole aspect of the event and that is the start. Learning to react to the starters gun, not anticipate it. Thank goodness for them it was an experience at Carifta and not say at Penn or World Jr. Hopefully it will be a teachable moment for these absolutely brilliant athletes. Injury is unfortunate but there are some elite athletes who never had injuries. So coaches and athletes need to take care of their bodies. AND PLEASE DO NOT downplay those remaining athletes' efforts. Watch out for T&T.

    This Jamaican girl didn't foul start. She only moved. I do not agree with this disqualification because even after the first disqualification the commentators started the it can't be a dq unless the feet are off of the blocks and the hands from the ground and clearly this wasn't her case. And the officials need to ensure that the spectators are aboslutely in a husssh.
