- For all you Canadians out there, this one’s for you
Hockey Night in Canada returns October 16th on the Sportsnet channels, CBC, CityTV, and Omni Television with a massive doubleheader! Most will see Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs battle the Senators in the Battle of Ontario, while others will see Adam Fox and the Rangers travel to Montreal to take on the defending Campbell Bowl holding Canadiens. Later, the Battle of Alberta takes the stage as reigning Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid and his linemate Leon Draisaitl and the Oilers battle the Flames in the national spotlight!

This sends chills down my spine. The old theme is great, but it doesn't compare to the energy this has.
Underrated, people just hate it because it’s not the old theme but this one is great on its own!
for sure. i mean, i like their old theme too, but this one jus has more of that intense feeling tbh
Iconic
Boby Orr
The original was the best.
Just pure vanilla.... and with no Don Cherry after 1st period, I might as well tune into TSN/RDS
yea i think CBC getting rid of both “The Hockey Theme” and Don Cherry was pretty stupid, although what Cherry said abt the poppy flower was pretty wrong imo, idk, i ain’t from Canada, so what do i kno?
@@jandinm12Just incase you were more curious about what happened to Don, Don Cherry was always greeted with mixed feelings from fans but after the thing with the remembrance day poppies he was actually considered very unwelcome by a vast majority of people, he layer lost more respect when he was showing support for the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. Despite all this he is still considered a major part of hockey and the old Hockey Night in Canada. I don't really have an opinion on the fact. Just thought you'd like to know more on the situation
@@marcanthonybattenberg7636 i saw the incident, so i’m now aware of what happened, but thank you for filling me in anyway. no ur absolutely right, even tho he’s not there anymore, i think him being there set Hockey Night up for the success that it has rn. but even tho i think his comments were wrong, he made a nice piece abt Remembrance Day, and the CBC and Rogers/Sportsnet can come at me for this, but i think they were too sensitive when they let him go.
@@jandinm12 I don't really think CBC was the one who let go of the theme, moreso they lost the rights and tried to prevent CTV/TSN from using it in general
aside from that don cherry was long overdue to be kicked out, piece or no piece he let his true colors show and after everything he has said, I'm surprised Don was let go for that and wasn't sheltered.
@@sillygoose635 yea, i agree. Ron MacLean could’ve protected him, and ig if he did, then I think the least CBC and Sportsnet could’ve done was suspend both of them for at least one Saturday night
