Unfortunately, it only lasted a couple months and then it started drifting again. I suspect that the plastic back plate started to bend and no longer provided the necessary pressure on the joycon plate. If there was a screw in the middle of the joycon back plate I think it would work much longer but since that doesn't exist I no longer recommend this fix.
