I agree completely! Not only is he so completely focused, but his precision is spectacular. In a way, the percussion is the next best thing in the song, next to Jonsi's singing.
Jonsi is just brilliant! If i were a director, i would use his music in every movie i made :) One of the last norwegian movie, "Kongen av Bastøy" (great movie by the way), they got music from Sigur Rós, and that just made the scenes so much more powerful.. Pure genius!
iwannabeanarwhal That doesn't mean that's the only definition for it. Also, it's more believable that the 'lilikoi' in the song title refers to the Icelandic term. It also makes more sense than 'Boy Passion Fruit.' :p
Sylvan Sylvan From an Interview: "Lilikoi comes from Hawaii, when we were there mixing the Riceboy Sleeps album; that was the first time I’d heard the word, living in this paradise, in the heart of a jungle and surrounded by fruit trees; avocado, macadamia trees." I don't recall where it was, but I also read or heard another interview in which he spoke of how amazed he was of Hawaii, where everything was full of life, and how that was very different from Iceland, where nothing grows, that's why they decided to make this song.
Sylvan Sylvan Nevermind, I found it: " *The most popular cut, “Boy Lilikoi,” features gorgeous crescendos. What’s that song about?* Lilikoi means passion fruit. I got inspired by a trip Alex and I made to Hawaii to work on instrumental project Riceboy Sleeps. It was the nature and the trees. In Iceland, nothing grows. You have to control the forest and the plants."
@JackKrausGuitar i didn't know that he was part of the backing band! i was surprised to see him there. i guess it makes sense since jonsi was working with alex on their little side project before this took large.
It's really complicated to say for sure WHAT his lyrics are. There are seven different sites that all have slightly similar/dissimilar lyrics. He sometimes also mumbles, which might have to do with his singing style and the music's tempo. There may simply just not be enough time for him to say every every syllable with proper enunciation. However, considering this is the artist who collaborated in creating Hopelandic, I'm neither surprised or disappointed.
Jonsi's Drummer or should I say percussionist, is really AMAZING!! Everytime I see him I am more blown away.

best song on the album...just love it, totally love it.

Just so you know lilikoi in Icelandic means being of nature
Madleine CarrWhite Actually, it's the Hawaiian word for "passion fruit".

Oh. Okay then. So that's cleared up now...
But it still would have made sense either way, no?
Jejeje su gallito y su cara!!!! Pero es Jonsi...todo se le perdona...es talentosisisisisimo!!!!!
Why does this look like it's a recording from the 90s??
That percussionist is GOING OFF!
@JackKrausGuitar i didn't know that he was part of the backing band! i was surprised to see him there. i guess it makes sense since jonsi was working with alex on their little side project before this took large.
Aw! His BF Alex @ 1:15 !
This sounds almost near the studio recording. It sound so good. I'm surprised that it's only four people.

@Rindlakukur i never knew that. thanks for telling me
You know you've made it as a musician when they don't call you a "Drummer" but instead a "Percussionist Extrodinaire".

That's Alex Somers, it's Jónsi´s boyfriend.. But sure, it reminds you of Howard a bit. :)
He always used to be a bird...
I want to take this song behind the bleachers and make sweet love to it.
