First show I took my stepson too was Pantera, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Static X and some other band... He had heard a bunch of Static X and Pantera on the local heavy rock radio but only got snippets of Slayer in my car. We got tickets on the floor at San Jose Area and stood right in-front of the mixing desk in the middle of the floor. He was about knee high to a grasshopper at the time and I was going to put him on my shoulders but one of the security guys let him stand inside the mixing desk area on the barriers when Slayer came on. We were a good 40 yards from the stage and he shouted in my ear that moshpits on other shows had been reaching the desk. He wasn't wrong, one massive pit and my kid was left with a memory he hasn't forgot. In a way it ruined future shows for him... From the massive pits that Slayer had to everyone in the arena headbanging to Pantera when they performed their final song - there's nothing that can compare. That was 20 years ago and still he says he hasn't seen a show like it. ... if only he saw Sepultura play Manchester Apollo in 96 on the Roots tour. Ye Gods. I'll tell you this, I was always home 10 minutes early. Well, not every day. I was stopped by the police twice for speeding on a push bike. No tickets, no fines, just told off. In the UK in those days, one couldn't get fines for speeding if we had no speedometer. The 2nd time I was clocked at 45 mph, in the 30 mph zone...LOL I was young once you know...

I’ve always wondered what you two rocking grannies were doing in 1986 when all these great metal songs were dropping. Must of been into a different scene lol
Yeah Chris, in 1986 things were a lot different for us then. Raising teenagers at that point who were the ones into this music then, working full time and taking care of the households, it didn’t leave much time for exploring different music. Granny Haze & I are 5 years apart & I grew up with Elvis & of course Motown since were from Michigan & Granny Haze was a Beetles fan & Hendricks and that type of music, so at this point in our lives, really discovering metal & it’s sub genres is very exciting to us. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
You ladies should listen to the songs "Green," "Memories Fade," "My Soul Is Wet," and "Locked" by the band Mutha's Day Out. They only put out one album in the early 90's and disappeared. Good album no one knows about!
From a few decades of experience, catching people is a selective experience. You catch pretty much everyone but there are a few assholes that have pissed everyone off in the pit that get the half hearted catch. Best "no-catch" ever. Late 90's Soulfly - Max Cavalera from Sepultura's band, was headlining in Manchester, UK at the Manchester Academy and Limp Biscuit were special guests. Fred from Limp Dipshit comes on stage and starts talking smack about English people and the stage dives. Crowd parts faster than Moses and the Red Sea. The ensuing microphone thud on ground brings huge crowd approval.
How are you going to go to another country and talk smack about their fans? Maybe he deserved the parting of the Red Sea. Lol. Hope he was OK though. Thanks for sharing your story and keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
@@nanaking9560 That was no smack talking about their fans - I fully approved of their decision. Fuck Fred Durst. LOL. I grew up in England and left a few years after this show. Fred made the cardinal mistake at a show in England back in the day. Talked crap about the other support band that was on the bill with them (Dub War). Benji from Dub War is a long time friend of Max (the singer from Sepultura) and Dub War was a very popular metal/reggae/ska band. He was OK. He managed to get back up on stage but had a little less bravado than before. Maybe the deafening roar of the rock when he hit the floor told him how we all felt. Sadly they went on to become rockstars and his levels of bullshit skyrocketed.
Lately I've been listening alot to Ghost B.C. they are similar to slayer but ghost have a Halloween, groovy feeling to their music. I'd recommend: Square Hammer (definitely music video) And dance macabre (definitely music video) Mummy Dust Elizabeth (about an extremely evil woman) Stand by him Ritual Crucified Kiss the goat Thanks for that video reactions, much love! Ah, yeah... On their farewell concert here in São Paulo (Brazil), I just couldn't resist and got in the mosh pit during Raining Blood. Floor was slippery and one of my feet just went away from under me (I will blame it on the slippery floor, not my 40-something years old back then, ahem) and I half fell forward. Some guy I never even saw well just pulled me right back up. Yup, that's how it usually goes there. :-) Now, regarding people not playing music like that anymore... Well, not really. Of course no one can be classics like Slayer were, but there are some great newer bands doing "blood pumping" music. And some of these bands are female-only! Try Crypta ("From the Ashes" or "Starvation"), a new band about to release their first album but their player are experienced. Or Nervosa (the original band of two of the Crypta ladies), specially their new stuff ("Guided by Evil", "Perpetual Chaos", etc.).
Greetings Brazil. Great to have you watching. I love hearing how people in the “Metal community” are watching out for each other. It’s awesome. Maybe someday that will happen in the rest of the world and not just certain groups. Until then, we’ll take what we can get and keep hoping for more. Rock on babies. Thanks for sharing your story.✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
Funny you two mentioned that there's no replacement for SLAYER. Well, I beg to differ. I highly recommend checking out the Greek Thrash band SUICIDAL ANGELS. Their music is VERY similar to SLAYER's, but their vocals are different but they fit the music better. I suggest the song "Beggar of Scorn" to get a good sense of their SLAYER-like vibe.
Lol. I heard Tom said he’s never been able to hit that note quite like that again. Lol. Don’t know if that true, but it’s a funny story anyhow. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
I don't think I've literally ever heard anyone, who's listened passed the first 20 seconds of this song, think that's a guitar lol. Yeah it may start off sounding like a guitar wailing but, once Tom transitions into the lower register scream, that's when it clicks for people that, "oh! That wasn't a guitar, it was the singer!". Cant imagine there is even anyone that exists that believes otherwise to debate that, lol.
@@FilthTribeFTP I've had long arguments with people claiming it's a guitar, one on this video about two years ago, they exist and no matter how much proof I gave them it's Tom's voice they still insisted it's a guitar. Go to this songs comments, I'm sure you'll find a few.
2RG's it's time to experience Orbit Culture. The melodic death metal powerhouse from Sweden. I recommend the songs, saw, nensha, the north star of nija, open eye, the shadowing, rebirth, mute the silent. All are great. I think you'll like them.
Now even before the music started I had to leave a like because of your stories. We've all been there at some point listening to stuff our family wouldn't approve of ever. So if you like Slayer (who are all very chill and nice people) and you like this kind of music, maybe you wanna do some old Sadus maybe? I'd be delighted.
Of course you can. Please note it could take awhile to see a video you might ask for but we only record 2 or 3 times a month and do huge blocks of videos at one time. We always check out all request though, so feel free to ask. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤

You guys should react to some songs off of the album Symbolic by the band Death, I'd recommend "Without Judgement", "Symbolic", "Perennial Quest", and "Zero Tolerance"

I call bullcrap - no way you're 74 at the time of this recording. Take 10+ years off that - you both look fantastic. - from the UK - if you don't understand mosh pits, watch some Rugby ;) Metal gigs are a real good generational thing. The old folks watch for the young folks and make sure they're safe. I remember being 14 and trying to get served at the bar and refused. Bummed out, I turned round and some massive older tattooed guy handed me a pint and refused to take my money, just clapped me on the back. Slightly older, had my first joint back at some guys flat in London after a gig, big party - all the older folk looked after me, made sure I got to the toilet to be sick + got me some water, then laughed at me - in a good way, woken up at 10am and got given a bacon sandwich (and another joint) before heading home. Big dude made me ring him (landline days) to check I got home ok - friends to the end RIP buddy.

Thanks babies for the suggestion and for the info and keep on rocking. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
Haaaaaah....!!! Nothing like a bit of Slayer for a calming, blissful way to ease out a stressful day. NOT. I'd cycle home to their first album, as fast as i could.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Graham. It was very amusing. Glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back pleasant memories. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤

You should check out Children of bodom: Trashed, Lost and Strungout. They were influenced by slayer in some ways, but are more melodic.
Sounds interesting. We appreciate your suggestion and keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
WOW, that's amazing. Yeah, great album, great track. I just started playing guitar a year ago and he's a big influence on me. If i'm feeling down and not finding the will to play his music always get's me back up🤘

Man, it really doesn't get any better than Slayer. 🎶🤘
You are absolutely right. 100%. Thanks for the comments and keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
You ladies should listen to the songs "Green," "Memories Fade," "My Soul Is Wet," and "Locked" by the band Mutha's Day Out. They only put out one album in the early 90's and disappeared. Good album no one knows about!
Thanks Mikey. That sounds very interesting. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
@@nanaking9560 Right on!
It breaks my heart to know I will never see them ever again
THERES THE GREAT DEATH ANGEL MISS GRANNYS . AAAAA YOU TWO ARE AWESOMENESS
Lately I've been listening alot to Ghost B.C. they are similar to slayer but ghost have a Halloween, groovy feeling to their music.
I'd recommend:
Square Hammer (definitely music video)
And dance macabre (definitely music video)
Mummy Dust
Elizabeth (about an extremely evil woman)
Stand by him
Ritual
Crucified
Kiss the goat
Thanks for that video reactions, much love!

Sorry. That’s what happens on a “reaction channel.” We react when something happens that catches our attention. If we waited to the end, it wouldn’t be a true reaction. I’m sure you understand. That’s just how we roll babies. Keep on rocking. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤

There are many but there was only slayer.
I have a long story about attending slayer
There is ONLY ONE SLAYER. I 100% agree. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
Now, regarding people not playing music like that anymore...
Thanks for the recommendation babies and keep on rocking. 🤘🏻🎶✌🏻🖤

To all the people who think that opening scream is a guitar...NOW WHAT!? It's Tom, get over it.
Thanks Bryan. We appreciate your suggestions and keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
You need to know the lyrical background to this song to understand it fully.
We know it’s about that beast who ran the Nazi death camp Auschwitz during WWII. It’s a very emotional song. Keep on rocking babies. ✌🏻🎶🤘🏻🖤
Give it a year or so SLAYER will be back. Maybe not world tours but shorter tours with time off in between. There's already rumblings.
Please try more classic hard and fast Thrash Metal like Slayer.
Destruction - Mad Butcher
Kreator - Riot of Violence
Sepultura - Slaves of pain

I call bullcrap - no way you're 74 at the time of this recording. Take 10+ years off that - you both look fantastic.
- from the UK - if you don't understand mosh pits, watch some Rugby ;)
Metal gigs are a real good generational thing.
