Following your teachings through your videos and Daniel’s on this channel here, I have come to a point that when I go to bed I just let it go, I let my body fall asleep because it knows how to do that. If I have a difficult night, where I might not fall asleep right away or experience maintenance insomnia then I say to myself there is always tomorrow night. When I think I have not slept enough then usually I sleep a solid 1 hour to 1.5 hour in the morning, after the sun is up, and it feels like I am sleeping in. It feels so good. I see the upside to difficulties, I accept them. Let it go, don’t force things, don’t put pressure on yourself, that’s what I get from this video. Thank you Alina and Daniel. 🇨🇦

Beautiful insight. Nowadays when i find myself fearing not sleeping I will catch myself and tell myself that it’s not about the recovery from insomnia itself, but setting myself free from being imprisoned by my own mind.

I just want to thank you Alina and also Daniel we I was miserable about a week ago and I even commented under your Instagram post. I'm struggling with insomnia about 10 years and tried many things but this time I actually figured it out. For almost one last week I struggled hard to get any sleep and most of nights I needed a pill, one night I didn't sleep at all but I tried to approach the next day without fear and I spent it as usual. Obviously I felt tired, uncertain but I was trying to focus on the things around me rather to dwell and worry inside my head over the same things over and over again. The following night I needed to took a pill tho because I didn't yet know how to exactly cope with all the thoughts and emotions and I slept for about 3-4 hours. I woke up and get out of bed and started my day, which wasn't amazing but I said to myself "it is what it is, 4 hours still better than nothing" and carried on with everyday stuff and I was educating myself with your videos. Now, obviously as the evening was coming closer, the thoughts were revolving around sleep, the anxiety was slowly creeping in but I let them be, I didn't interact with these thoughts and emotions and as you said in the video - I didn't treat them as enemies anymore and this was a dramatic change of approach. In the past when I wouldn't sleep for one night and have all these thoughts and emotions I would panic and it would be the end of the world. I went to bed that night, I fell asleep in 5 minutes and slept solid 5 hours, followed by another night, these were the next 5 hours. The next day magic happened as I slept all 7-8 and then I took a nap after a dinner (which was impossible before at all), I fell asleep and I woke up...5 hours later. I was like wait what? :D and then another 5 at night. so I think I'm on my way to recover, last nights were the best in terms of sleeping in 10 years time, no more fear as I go to bed, it feels natural and right. It might be the beginning of this journey but I'm so grateful for all these videos and willingness to help others. I don't know where would I be if not you, thank you!

as you go you see more and more of your behaviour that you didn't even know were there. For example after I started to get better, and I could stay up longer, I realized that I'm afraid to stay up later than 10pm, even though I thought I no longer have any kind of avoidant behaviour anymore. There are so many layers of insomnia. It does take a lot of time to unlearn this behaviour and thinking.

Hi, Can you PLEASE reply my question. That is I'm suffering for insomnia for 4 months. I'm getting very light sleep about 2/3 hours every night even zero hour of sleep some nights. I'm not very afraid of that. But the problem is I'm preparing for a competitive examination where physical fitness (like eye sight and running) is also very important and I have to study about 14-16 hours a day. So will I be able to achive my goal with that insomnia or it can make me ill and weak??? What do you think please reply...🙏🙏

wow, do you really learn 14-16 hours day??? can you tell me your work schedule? how do you manage to learn so much? and where do you get your motivation from although you dont get so much sleep?

Hi! What can help very much is to see that we can do really well even if we don’t sleep that much, you can look at the talking insomnia episode Brittany who completed an Ironman triathlon on minimal sleep and Kristen who did well on her medical school entrance exams. Rooting for you!

@@coca824 Yes I try to do so but sometimes it only 10-12 hours. And I don't have so much motivation, I just want to be independent in life. But now this sleeping problem really reduces my confidence. Sometimes I feel very concern...
