@@biloki3079 there is both the official video which is fire, and a brand new concert video - the concert video wasn't recorded by Napalm or at Wacken though so it isn't perfect sound. Still fun though, and seeing them do their thing in concert is always a treat even if the sound isn't quite as good as it could be.

This is a technique known as false chord screaming. This style requires no vocal usage. The power is coming from her diaphragm, by tensioning her abs and throwing out a lot of air to make that voice. I practice in vocal fry which is another version of screaming.
Right, vocal range is a different thing. She doesn't have that much range, she's "just" mastered two totally different vocal styles. Note that normally false cord vocalists can only get 4-5 syllables at a time max (if you listen to Angela Gossow do Nemesis - live in Tokyo 2008 is fire btw - she's doing 2-3 syllables at a time) while Tatiana's is able to do extended growls that usually you'd expect to see someone need to use fry screams to achieve (for example for the non-harsh vocal fans out there compare Nemisis at Wacken in 2016 by Alissa White-Gluz who is a fry screamer). So there is still a bit of controversy over exactly what technique Tatiana is using that will only be resolved if she has someone do an endoscope video while she's screaming. As an example of her current growling ability check out Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev, or the full set bootleg from Israel uploaded at the end of February by Idan Shahar - which also includes a current performance of Who Is Gonna Be The One where she really pushes what she can do with continuous low growling. Pisces doesn't use her low growls, just high and mid-range growls.

@@cyberia55 I've never liked growls until I discovered Jinjer. Tati forced me to take a crash course in all this, so now I try to translate for the other folks who are new to the technique. :)
@@j.f.fisher5318 nah, mate, listen to some deathcore. You can do false chords for a whole song and full sentences no problem. And yep, I know some growls or lows in deathcore are fry, but most of them are false chord and 5 sylabes is not really a limit.
Edit: this is in response to the "normally false chords..." everything else is spot on
@@charlielocke9 good to know. That limitation is just what I've heard. It has seemed likely to me considering false vocal cords are probably anatomically used to close the throat in for example the valsalva maneuver that they could be partially closed in a manner similar to how the true cords are in fry screaming to reduce the volume of airflow for longer growls.

She's the real deal. Ukrainian band that has been around for 10 years or so and just now finding a larger audience... I'm not a metalhead, but this group has me hooked. The lyrics are very deep - I took it as an inner struggle between good and evil, innocence and being used and blaming yourself for it - possibly some daddy issue stuff. Could be completely off, but that's what I got.

Tatiana is real. She's a shy, depressed, kinda nerdy girl who somehow realized this was what she was made to do and has mastered it. And behind the mic she transforms herself into the demigoddess that her art needs her to be as an act of human will that I personally find as inspiring as her music. This song is about her emotional duality through the lens of her Pisces sun sign - the clean singing parts are talking about her depression and loneliness, but also fear of intimacy, while the growls are talking about her pain, anger, and self-destructive urges. I'd suggest Perennial at Wacken to see what she sounds like in an epic performance of a beautiful (brutiful?) song, and Teacher Teacher official for a more complex song that is more representative of Jinjer's style (Pisces is their 3rd lightest song) and also has some sections that sound to me a bit like rap - I'm no expert there though. Cheers!

That being said, her alterego must be pretty powerful, because she doesn't seem shy and depressed at all when she's rocking out on stage with those tight little shorts on. She must know that she's got appeal... She has to... With legs like that, and the way she bares them on stage. Some legs, when you see them, you just instantly imagine them wrapped around you, squeezing the breath out of you as you reach the summit together, with you left there afterwards just wishing you could stay in the warm embrace of those silky, smooth legs forever, savoring the contact of every square inch of her skin -

@@LordSplittawig She's been singing in various bands more than half her life, a third of it in Jinjer. I used to think that line about her being selfless was ironic, because what lead singer in a rock band is selfless? Usually their whole job is to have such over-the-top sense of self (ego) that it sucks the audience in. But I started to realize that it isn't like that for her. Her alter ego is just part of her art, and she enjoys playing the role, but when you watch her interviews you can tell that the alter ego isn't her.
I have had the pleasure of meeting her and the whole band.. all are beautiful people, and super friendly))

She is 💯 real. No tricks, no backing vocals, that is her.
It's not though, you can use the same equipment from the studio on a live mic. The bassist said in an interview about her growls that they are produced using pitch shifting, slight reverb, and running through a distortion channel.

Tatiana has the ability to produce what’s called a vocal Fry. It’s common for men in metal to use a vocal fry but EXTREMELY rare for a female (such as Tatiana).

She’s probably one of the only metal singers I’ve seen that sound the same live. Check out perennial live. She kills it and in an interview she said she has no formal vocal training

@@sondersonics7534 She explained this in an interview. The live session was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing while they were getting a feel for being in the studio with their new drummer. After some messing around and getting a feel for his style they decided to record this take of Pisces because they thought it fit his style pretty well. After the session, they listened through it and were so proud of how well it turned out that they decided to quickly (as in, all in the same day) put together some backing tracks and release it to the fans.
So yes, there's backing tracks, but they're all her, and were recorded in the same session as the main tracks.

It still surprises me that people think it’s the voice that effects the scream, having a higher more feminine voice doesn’t affect your ability to growl like she does.

Saw them 1 month ago in a small venue in my country, Tatiana is a fucking beast. She sings flawlessly live during a 2 hour setlist. Vlad, Eugene and Roman are just on another level on their craftsmanship too, really top notch band overall.
