    Some very cruel words posted here about the soldier. How sad it is that a little child has more compassion and giving in his heart, and yet so many adults can only think of posting foul language and criticize a very touching act of kindness. We have much to learn from children. They do not know hatred except that it is displayed by adults. May God bless those people who get so caught up in themselves that they fail to see the real message.

God bless the american soldiers who sacrifice so much, for us to have the ability to live in this amazing country. If you see a soldier, give him/her a big thank you. If you have children, hug them more often than usual, and tell them you love them constantly. To all the soldiers, i want to leave you this words, BEING DEEPLY LOVED BY SOMEONE GIVES YOU STRENGHT; WHILE LOVING SOMEONE DEEPLY GIVES YOU COURAGE. THIS COUNTRY LOVES YOU; AND YOU FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU LOVE THE MOST...YOUR FAMILY. STAY SAFE. AND GOD BLESS THE USA.

The befriended child shared later that he had been planning to kill himself after school that day, as his life was hard and he had not been able to make friends, but decided not to when this boy was kind to him... We never know how much it can mean.

    continue where I left off on the below comment. my dad only held me once when I was three months old and then he was called off to war. my mom told me how much he loved me and couldn't wait till the war was over so he could raise his beautiful little girl with the heart shaped mouth I'll always remember that what she had said. I have love letters stacked in a box that he wrote to my mom end many of them included me in each of his letters he even Drew beautiful flowers and pictures to my mom and about me big hearts and kisses. I treasure those letters as if he were here now. and someday we will meet when it's time to go to the other side and he won't be in a grave but his arms will be stretched out to greet me and so will my mom because she's with him now. this was such a heartwarming video it's making me cry sorry about that but life is really hard and war is very cruel. it ruins lives where there could have been love instead thank you for this video

    To the people that dislike this video calling it war propaganda, you can dislike the war and still like this kid. I agree we had no business being in Iraq, but for the people who served in our military who honestly believe they were just trying to help our country I thank. I am thankful that people still love our country enough to die for it, next time we maybe the defenders, not the aggressors. To the people slamming the kid in this video, how could you not have a soul? You can call his note egotistical, self-agrandizing, and misplaced, but the kid wanted to do something nice for somebody that the kid associated with his father, having effectively never met him and living vicariously through other people memories and stories. He could have been selfish and spent the money on himself, but instead he though that money could be used to brighten two people's days, just like that soldier went ahead and used the money to brighten another person's day by donating it to a charity. The true gift of charity is not really the item given, no matter how desperately needed it may be. The true gift of charity is the gift of letting someone know that somebody else out there, who probably doesn't even know them, still cares about them and their well being, and when it seems like the entire world is stacked against you, that can be an amazing message to give to someone. The soldier kept the bigger gift for himself, that being the note from the kid. The twenty bucks could easily be spent in an instant, that note will motivate that soldier to be the best person he can be for quite a while, I would wager.

    From one extreme to another. One minute I'm watching this while wiping the tears away. Then when I'm done I scroll down & see all of these thumbs down & I'm really angry. I'll never understand why ppl feel it necessary to be mean. Who could possibly find fault with this child who's never known his father & did an incredibly noble & admirable thing??? All of you who did that should be ashamed of yourselves. You are all heartless, mean & cruel.

      @paulanull6521 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello T.D., I am new to U tube and didn't understand almost all of it until my granddaughter explained some of my questions to me. Like you, I thought the little "thumbs" down were votes against the item shown. They are not. It is the symbol for those who want to give a thumbs down and the numbers next to the thumbs are how many were given. No thumbs down have numbers so zero were given. Many, many numbers are by the thumbs up (as this news feature deserves). So don't worry like I did that a good number of people here were haters or jerks (or kooks). Not everyone is at all. Nor are you because it mattered that there were votes against this goodness. I thank you for that.

      paula null I'm sorry but that's not true. The video had 316 beside thumbs down. I'm of the belief that if you have nothing good to say don't say anything. If you ever give one a thumbs down you will see the number change when you do. So yes, ppl are mean and cruel and even give kids like this a bad review. I don't understand & I wish it wasn't so but it is.

I still have his scrapbook with all his drawings that's all I have of my dad and a few of his photographs in uniform. this little boy wants to keep his dad alive for himself. his mom will become both mom and dad like my mom did for me. this little boy in the video will always miss his dad for the rest of his life. inspirit his dad will be right next to him always.

      Tracy Belt it breaks my heart when a child loses its dad at so early age. Kids always need a father figure in their life.

      Orion Pax His father is with him and he must have been a good man because the mere memory of him left such an impression on that kid as to instill values that make this world a brighter place. His mother definitely has a huge role in this as well. I'm happy people like him exist

    A very remarkable mind and heart in that boy. I just wish we could all be the same towards each other. Give when you can it makes you feel good inside.

    This little guys father would be so proud of him. What a heartwarming, wonderful thing to do. God bless him. Noted there are over 300 thumbs down, who aside from evil citizens would do that.
