Keep an M&S Foodhall in Cleveleys!

- It's January 2025 and new plans have emerged which will see a big new food-store built at Norcross. The staff might be looking forward to it but we need to keep M&S Foodhall in Cleveleys! Surely there's space for both?

Sad to see this store under threat of closure. I’ve seen similar happen in llandudno north wales. Closed two stores in the high street and opened a new one on out of town site. Seems to be their future formula. Good luck with the petition. I always love coming to blackpool and cleveleys on holiday. 😊
I signed the petition, good luck to us all. M&S replaced Iceland in 2006, Iceland and the rest of that block were built on the site of the last occupied house on Victoria road - a bungalow which was operated as a music school and had a name... something like Mandalay, but probably not that. Interesting how things go around, once the car showroom was going to be Aldi, it has been a popular suggestion for M&S over the years. Rumours of M&S were in play before Iceland appeared there. Only got to look at M&S in Fleetwood, the one on Lord Street, people would have liked that to be retained - often said they still own the building.
I live in bolton and they shut our marks and spencers in town centre. Relocated to Middlebrook which you can't get too unless you have a car. All the older generation used to shop there go in cafe have lunch . Catch bus home. Gone now a derelict building. They promised us a food hall. That,s not materialised. YES YES please keep M&S it's a really busy shop,there are a lot of older people that use it that can't travel far and would miss it . Please think about your customers M&S .🙁

M&S have been seeking new locations for a long time now. Both norcross and near Tesco at the end of the M55. Currently the Blackpool store have done a deal to stay for a little longer in Blackpool TC however the building is in a poor state. I would imagine both will relocate with the next few years.

It's a big shame 😢 But we in Leicester lost our M&S last September & Northampton
I used a mobility scooter so the M&S in Cleveleys is fine for me. I can't travel to Norcross easily. The Cleveleys branch is always so busy. Not everybody has a car. My mobility scooter won't fit on a bus.
Just imagine going along the bypass to Norcross on a mobility scooter with the rain lashing at you...
Also electric scooters with rain we would not want anyone speeding to Norcross
I don't know why they have to close the one in Cleveleys to build the new one that's not close to the town centre.
The food hall in Cleveleys is handy to pop in to while shopping in town. The new one will be too out of the way
Hi Jane.I don't mind having an M& S at Norcross but it shouldn't close in Cleveleys.Cleveleys store has always been busy.Elderley people without cars won't want to go to Nocross.

hi jane thanks for a great video unfortunately this is a sign of the times to close the high streets and turn them into homes and the authorities [planning] think that people can use transport to go out of town shopping what do they know ? carry on your just causes for the locals. hope the boys are well take care jane wes

It's the same every where Jane closing small shop's even if they are busy, few years ago Co Durham closed their m and s , and it's 20 minutes bus ride from Durham it's a bigger one with a cafeteria, a lot of our small shops have closed but did prefer Mark's and Spencer in Durham, partitions don't help !! All the cut back's.
Hi Jane. The way things are going there will be fewer & fewer retailers & food outlets in our towns due to the massive tax increases they will incur, not too mention the loss of thousands of jobs.
Greggs is coming back to cleveleys at morrisons redevelopment of petrol station shop
So I believe. Despite passing it umpteen times a week, I rarely go in there either.
If they want a bigger store why not use empty shop just round the corner which used to be the ex catalogue shop!

They closed are M&S here in Keighley 5-10 years ago. It sold clothing and food and had been there donkeys years, 😠
