  • You can see why people are confused but honestly it's not finished! Here's this week's update and why there are rocks everywhere at Cleveleys Beach! (most will be moved!) It's all part of the Wyre Beach Management Project - protecting the coastline from erosion and flooding.
Wyre Council has secured funding from the Environment Agency of over £40 million for this next major coastal defence project, the Wyre Beach Management Scheme. It aims to reduce the risk of coastal erosion and tidal flooding to over 11,000 properties and infrastructure within Wyre. I am the Public Liaison Officer for the project so know exactly what's happening and why. If you want to know more call into The Venue at Cleveleys between 9-12 on Thursday mornings.

It's fantastic to see that Cleveleys Beach is on the move and improving and not left to rot like so many other seaside destinations are.
Great video Jane, will you be having a play in those rock pools when it's finished! 😊
