    I’ve known about this for a long time. It doesn’t bother me that they do it. It bothers me that consumers are misled into thinking they are buying the same quality product as in the retail stores. I think the products should be clearly labelled as made for outlet.

    Hmm, this confirms what my Mum mentioned recently. Also explains why the zipper of a Miu Miu bag I bought last year from there somehow fell off (customer service was exceptional though). Don’t see anything wrong with outlet purchases, not everyone can afford retail prices and that’s ok.
    The same thing has been said for TKMaxx. Apparently their ‘designer’ items from their Gold Label section, are all outlet made.

    While I do believe this is true of some brands, it is not true for others. For example for when I’ve shopped in the Balenciaga store in Bicester Village and some of the full price prices in my collection have featured there. Definitely good to do your research!

    Some retail items are at the outlet. They usually have them separate and they usually are not as cheap or discounted as the other items. I have bought many retail items in the outlet store even if they are past year items. I go in looking for past retail items first.

    I have known this for a while. In my experience there is definitely a difference in quality between outlet and retail. I also find it very misleading when they put an absurd RRP on an outlet item but the item has never been sold at that price - this is misleading to consumers. Personally I am a careful shopper and often look online for information on whether an item is retail or outlet.

      There is nothing wrong on getting outlet products, if you love it get but I think t outlet stores should be more transparent about the lesser quality.

    Most Prada bags in Bicester are made in India and Romania, you will very rarely get a genuine Italian made Prada bag from Prada at Bicester Village. I dislike the place intensely, all overpriced and not genuine. I would sooner pay 1k for genuine rather than a 300 or £500 fake!

      Very true, Dior, Fendi, and many others sell original items which were/are once in proper retail/boutiques, however their discount is not huge in Bicester. But Gucci/MK and few others have big discounts, proves they’re made for outlets only. MK is much cheaper in America, even their higher end lines too.

  • @toby43078

    I mean its just common sense that outlet items arent from the high end boutiques..they were made specifically for the outlets with lower quality materials...they look cheaper and tacky also...its rarely the case that the items are previous years merch,,because its maybe about less than 5% of items in an outlet store was ever in the boutiques..its very rare...Most of what you said is incorrect.

  • @debbief9861
    @debbief9861 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m surprised that design houses which pride themselves on their quality, on having items made in Italy/France/Spain etc would be happy having a line of products clearly bearing their name as if the item was completely the real deal when it’s not. It’s not as though the bag, for example, has a slightly different branding. It declares it’s Prada or whatever when it’s not the same as in a ‘proper’ store. Seems strange to me. Also, how can products that aren’t the same as from an actual Prada/whatever store be considered as ‘reduced’ and a bargain when they were specifically made for outlet in the first place? The price you see is simply the price of the outlet item, not a reduction. Personally I prefer buying second hand and getting the real deal. Your account of Bicester has turned me right off!

    • @Lorriluxxe
