Hey mate just came across your channel. As a fellow overlander, youtuber and dog owner, I really enjoyed the video and subscribed to the channel. Great authentic video and down to earth like us. Keep up the great work and keep it doing it your style. Not about views or likes, but what matters 👍
Thank you for checking it out! I try to keep it realistic, if the story has a bad ending it is what it is, best not to butter it up! I appreciate the comment!
I have a 2013 FJ with 70,000 km (43,000 miles). Some features standard in the Australian market but not the US are the 160L (42 gallon) fuel tank and the sat nav head unit. Awesome car, even in 2023. Mine is even still covered by Toyota extended warranty to 2027 can you believe 😂
Ya it's a bummer they are disappearing. Have done everal backpacking trips up in the Snowmass Wilderness area to the same area each time and last year was the first year I didn't see any in the area. ,😕. Not a good sign. Amphibians are the most fragile of animal types so they the first to suffer consequences of changing environment
I really enjoy your channel! It's like if Steve Rinella was an overlander. You have a very similar feel to your videos as the meat eater series he hosts. Also, your way of narrating is very similar to Steve as well. Again, I really enjoy your channel and appreciate the effort you put into these amazing videos. Thanks! - Nick
I’m familiar with Steve, quite the hunter/biologist. I didn’t realize I had the same style, I’ll take that as a compliment! Thank you! New video up tomorrow!
@@IndependenceOverland for sure! Meant it as a compliment. I really enjoy all his stuff and just found some similarities with you. Keep it up! I'm currently binging more of your videos.

I do carry a pistol. One of the times I didn’t, I had I had the worst run in with an angry hunter. Basically the guy thought I wasn’t allowed in the NF. I had 2 buddies with me fortunately who witnessed the whole thing, and while he cussed and screamed he walked away. That experience really made me realize how unhinged people can be. I had a bow, he had a rifle. And he seemed like the kind of person that would use it on someone else.
Enjoyed the scenery, drone filming, and beautiful details that you concentrate on. Your camping vehicle was really, really neat too! Want to see more. No guess on animal being looked for, but I love animals, insects and nature more than people. Subscribed!
Sorry Vincent, I don’t share locations publicly like that. I’ve seen what the internet can do to places. Every once and a while I’ll share general locations or if it’s a very popular trail, I’ll share that. But the random back country routes I keep close to the chest. Thank you for watching sir!
The human story and our association with these kinds of things is pretty fascinating. We could use a little bit of wisdom from ancient people and their practices. It would likely help our society drastically.
@@IndependenceOverland 100%... I read everything Terence McKenna in my early 20s, got so facinated with the relationship ancients had with nature. @@IndependenceOverland perhaps some kind of salamander or frog, based on the slow movement and marshy areas you were searching, but not sure since I’m not familiar with the local ecology of Colorado.
@@g1mpster 😉 Sorry you didn’t like the way I presented it, I just wanted to keep it fun for next time. In the next episode, I get right into the salamanders.
We jokingly refer to moose as swamp donkeys in the Northern BC Rockies. Usually easily spooked but no joke if one gets pissed off. And now I have to search for the BBC special about what animals eat to hallucinate! Enjoyed the content, drone shots & commentary. 🥾🏔🇨🇦❤️
Hey Tyler… after a rainstorm do you just air out your tent the next morning, or air it out when you get home? Any strategies for RTT’s after rain? Just curious… Always love the footage bro.
Thanks as always for stopping by! I usually give myself around 5 days before I’m concerned with the tent. I just wait until the next dry day and pop it open, and leave the windows open. Usually it’s just the outside I’m drying, but I will also usually turn my fan on inside to circulate air in there as well.
@@IndependenceOverland nice.👌🤙 yeah I’m running a soft shell so I guess mine would be a little more exposed, eh? But still a solid strategy, for sure. 🍻
@@davidrucci do you have a diesel heater? You can pipe one of those suckers in the window and seal everything up, and it would dry it from the inside out in the cooler months.

Also, are you looking for the Boreal Toad?
Bam! I was!
Wow...how many great shots in the first 5-10 minutes...I cannot imagine how long this took as a solo creator...or did the pup help with filming...?
haha she help from time to time, but not much on this one!

we always cut mashrom up to roots so roots stay in ground that would allow to grow next year same place
Yeah most of these I cut right above the ground. I pulled a few, but the vast majority I cut. 🍄
Cutting being better is nothing more than a myth. That's not at all how mushrooms and mycelium work. If anything, you cut to get rid of the dirt.
