I haven't played ASL in a few years since we moved from Texas, but I'm yearning to find some group to meet and play in Southern California. I own all of the core modules (the originals) with the exception of the Finns latest release and I own the original rulebook. I also own all of the historical modules less Operation Watch Tower and the first deluxe module. Plus I own several action packs, ASL annuals, and ASL Journals. I say all of this because I went to Atlantic Con in Towsend, MD back in 1985 as a senior in high school with a felliw player and was like many, furious when they launched ASL. The only thing available at the event for sale was Beyond Valor with no rulebook to even play. Despite this, you swallow hard because you love this game and I bought Beyond Valor and prepaid fir the rulebook. Six months later a couple of weeks before Christmas, my rulebook was delivered and my ASL adventures began. Thanks for posting this and allowing me to revisit my memories.

William Wenzel go on Google and search for a Google map, the ASL Player's map. Also check out the ASL group on Facebook.

Doomed Battalions 3rd ed (module 11) replaces/combines the old Doomed Battalions module and The Last Hurrah (module 6). Thanks for making this video. It sums up everything nicely :)

I thought that something like that had happened. Thanks for the comment :)

@@GIJoeProductions If you want to tip your toe in, just get Starter Kit 1. It's under 30 bucks, and if you don't like it, it has great resell value.

I still have the AH ASL modules from 1 to 10. I am playing with a friend the Starter Kits in the hope that he'll be able to move to full ASL one day.

Wow.... used to have the full AH ASL series when I was a kid. Thought about getting back into it, then saw the prices. Just... unreal.

Good summary, but (a) it should probably be mentioned that the Chinese are included in Gung Ho (and thus also in Rising Sun), and (b) the description of Croix de Guerre undersells the scope of the module because it also includes scenarios featuring Vichy French troops fighting in Syria (against Free French and British troops) and Morocco (against American troops) in 1941 and 1942 respectively.

Stephen Rynerson Thank you for your comments. You're quite right: those modules are really quite diverse.

I still get angry when I see this stupid Last Hurrah cover ilustration. But I like that they used Poles on the three covers - Partisan, Last Hurrah and Doomed Battalions.
Still, Poland in Flames by BFF is supereme, when it comes to the 1939 ASL modules.

Wojna na Planszy Poland in Flames is amazing

Thanks for mentioning "Poland in Flames´" Seems to be really incredible (going by BGG). 45 (!) scenarios in the box (jaw drop). But something like 30 map boards needed to paly them all. Need to check how many of them I have. On to my PBL (Potential Buy List).
