Even the gx is noisy and chain slaps on the chunky shit. I’m about to switch to my derailleur to an xt to rid fully eliminate slap since my old deore 10x didn’t slap at all.
@@iwantmymtb you’re kind of making me want to do a side-by-side comparison. I have a GX drivetrain on my Stumpjumper and a SX drivetrain on my wife’s Fuse. I guess I found a video upload idea for this weekend - thanks for that 😂
@@dayinnymtb it's just a simple spring like old style rear mechs. Adding weaker clutch due to size of spring pivot is impossible. It's clearly visible when you look at Shimano internals. From Deore to XTR the clutch is the same. Sram uses the same roller bearing clutch, the only difference is it's fixed on a pivot with no access or adjustment available. All rear mechs from SX to XX1 use the same spring pivot diameter, so you basically can't place a weaker clutch inside. It's all or nothing. I believe you should check how roller bearing clutch works, to understand it. Tensioning is done by the spring.
Y’all were rippin! Can’t wait to get back out there.
Can’t wait to have you back out!
Excuse me for my ignorance. So what’s the answer? Is it better?
100% yes. Much much better

Mine has been silent for the most part. A world of difference from the sx
The SX has a clutch, but it is weak compared to what is on the higher end SRAM derailleurs.
Man that thing is so weak I didn’t even know it was there lol

there aint no clutch even in B1 variant.
If it didn’t, it would move forward without any tension - it has a clutch just not the same in the rest of the Eagle line-up and not very strong.

did you change the shifter or cassette?
Yes! Since then I have upgraded to gx shifter and NX cassette. The cassette wasn’t a very noticeable upgrade just needed to replace the old one
What is your hub anyway?
This could be hydra or spank hex. Sound so mouth watering delicious
It’s a nukeproof horizon v2. I love it
