I remember Matt tearing up when introducing the races at Brands after Chrissie died and pushing through it to make sure he did it right. I teared up watching him. Obviously a real gentleman.
Cracking episode :) Matt Roberts is great, love his race coverage and he's just a cracking human... Whit too, that the two are mates at home shines through in their work, they're fantastic...
Really nice pod. Love Matt. Wish him all the best going forwards. Totally agree with you Dom about that habit of just covering the top guys at the TT. They definitely could do better. It just gets annoying to see the same guys again and again. Even with the docu series it's the same guys along with Nathan Harrison, Milky Quale and like Josh Brooks. No offence but there are others who've been going for years and never get a look in. Hopefully that will change. There's no excuse now with three hour broadcasts. Anyway. Thanks for the pod. Hope both Christian and Dom have great years. Best of luck. Thanks Grace.
Wow, I didn’t think I’d be that bothered about this one but what a fantastic episode. What a fascinating person Matt is, so good to see the person behind the microphone. small wonder how successful he has been with how driven he is, brilliant! Really enjoyed this one, probably one of the best ones I reckon.
Top pod as always, Matt is always an interesting chat.. again another 2 hours of laughing and learning... looking forward to the BSB and having Matt back on the TV...
Fantastic podcast guys Matt Robert’s thanks for sharing your anxiety issues. I to have severe anxiety and have had for a while. Just nice to know I’m not alone x
Super, to actually learn the history of a man I see all the time. He doesnt tell stories about himself he asks questions usually. I was unaware he ghost wrote the books, ive read them all too!
The Po' Boys - now thats a blast from the past so it would have been Davitts in Allerton Bywater as theres sod all else there :) . Top podcast as always
I pass Matt’s house every day in the car on my way to take our dog for a walk and spotted the trailer 😮 Little did I know the famous people that were inside it 😂😂
Mat was talking about not having favourite riders clouding his presenting, I think he should have a word with Greg Haines and James Tosland there commentary on WSB is just a love fest for Batista and Ducati. I was a fan of Tosland but when you see what Ducati did to him after winning a championship for them I don't understand his fawning over them and there riders.
@DOM ADVICE- practice your sponsors names, read their ads straight through, research your guests! At least ASK guests 'what have you going on that you'd like to tell us about before we go on?' per Hot Ones or something. You should have listened to Matt's Wider Goals pod, or known about it, helped him pitch it. SUGGEST YOU ALL LISTEN TO IT AND IF YOU LIKE IT KEEP TALKING ABOUT HOW GOOD IT IS IN FUTURE PODS, and nail your sponsors names djeeze. This pod is a huge opportunity for all involved, please put the work in. Chrissy was ALWAYS prepared and worked his arse off with Grace. These guests give you hours of their time and Dom you've never once been prepared for any of them, you either know them from roads or burrdurp!? I recall Chrissy turning to you saying 'Are you serious!?' at how little you knew about a guest giving you 2 hrs... come on man, you are better than this, you now lead this pod, you can get into it. Sponsors literally pay your way! Meant as constructive criticism, Ive listened forever. Please work as hard as you can to keep it going.
A little harsh. Dom is excellent at what he does. Not everyone is a natural at reading but this isn't the bleeding BBC. Chrissy would be really proud of everything that Dom and Grace have achieved over the last year or so (like Toprak- his longest most enjoyable interview). These guys have jobs as well as trying to get themselves on the grid every year, dealing with almost losing an eye etc. I mean what do you want? What do you contribute to motorcycling? I find Dom comes up with some really great questions, he's sharp (ok jigsaw) and he's funny. "Just a little constructive criticism Dom". Why don't you keep it to yourself. The kid trys his best and he's doing a great job.
Sadly, motorcycle racing has likely had its heyday... Sustainability considerations of major sponsors means very few will touch wasteful motorracing. Blasting fuel and tyres is just not 'green' so with the major sponsors gone, the ship has sailed. Sadly, it will only get harder and harder, and more and more expensive. Careers in motor racing barely exist as it is, and increasingly even to top seats arent going to pay. At some point the top BSB may well be paid rides as they may get you a WSBK seat that pays. Im surprised so few in the racing industry perceive the squeeze!? I love bike racing, ride bikes etc. Im not attacking racing, Im telling it how I see it (I work in investing- we only put money in companies that score well on ESG, because its what people increasingly want - Environmental Social Governance factors- ie big companies CANT sponsor racing becsuse it would hurt the value of their companies...). Have a look at the corporate sponsors in BSB, few and far between, no more Cadbury or Airwaves. Its engineering, regional plant hire, construction ie not corporates on stock market where big money is, and typically companies that arent 'sustainable'... BSB and WSBK dont get enough eyeballs. Even GP struggles, has Estrella etc. but premier clases, per F1 get a big enough audience that works. NEXT CHALLENGE, the banning of ICE engines and coming of EV... I dearly hope easily produced cheap synthetic/organic fuels cone in and save ICE. Writing this for anyone chasing the dream- go for it but please do it for love and only if you can afford it. The days of parents remortgaging houses or getting in debt need to end... race as much as you can afford, if you cant, dont!
If liberty media turn MotoGP into the F1 show, it will die a slow (or fast) death. I used to enjoy F1 until the 2nd/3rd year of recent Mercedes dominance, since then it’s been horrendously boring, even the highlights are boring

That was a hard start to a broadcast to watch. So emotional.
How humble is Matt Roberts, what a bloke, massive respect for helping Lee
Oh and how funny is that Mr Whitham still gets in on the act
Dom, lad....when you ask your pod guest a question, please, please, please let them answer without interrupting them. Otherwise, I love the channel👍
Loved this one. Matt is a really nice guy - talented too. Great mentions for Chrissy. Everyone involved in CTR is doing him proud. 🥰
Cracking episode :)

What a top bloke, very interesting and could listen to him all night and thanks for matt for giving up his time
Fabulous podcast guys and a shout out to Matt, came across really well. Great work everyone! 🥃
Great cathartic chat from Matt, thank you guys
Enjoyed that. A top bloke is Matt. Makes the presentation look so easy, not that it will be.
The lads at Plumb wise ne Ltd are mad as hatters from Burnopfield... Gods country...
Proper loved this one so much, I listened to it twice 👍
100% agree with Dom about TT coverage only showing top 4. Even the radio doesn't cover everyone crossing the line anymore.
Very true. I remember Davo Johnson when he was co commentator gave Dom more shoutouts than any commentary/coverage he got.

Was interested when i saw this one pop-up and it didn't disappoint. Great insight from one of the faces of bike racing in the UK. Very nice bloke.
Loved this episode.... welldone guys.
Matt, Gav and Whit are so good at what they do. Enjoyed listening to this. Ta.
Fantastic podcast guys

A realy interesting pod cast. Bloody good crack. Thanks.
Another good Pod, how does 2 hours go by so fast.
Great pod guys, ❤
Forcing Dom to read the sponsor ads almost seems like abuse. 🤣
Sounded like a hostage video 😂
Brilliant ❤
Unfortunately never met Chrissy Nor matt yet I feel as if I know them so well outstanding podcast👏

You can take the man outta Yorkshire but you can't take Yorkshire out of the man. Yorkshire is like a siren, constantly calling people back.

That’ll be housekeeping kid.
