How To DJ School Dances In 2024 (CRUSH EVERY DANCE)

- Many DJs avoid school dances like the plague and I understand why. Its hard. Kids are brutally honest and will tell you if you suck. It's very humbling and can be discouraging! However, if you change a few small things in your approach, you can do rock school dances each and every time!

Tip 1. MC and tell them what to do. Kids are awkward and likely haven't learned how to dance yet. Tell them what to do... ex: "Put em up put em up put em up" or " Everyyyyyyybody JUMP JUMP JUMP"
Tip 2: Quick Mix: One chorus, one verse and get on with it.
Tip 3: Programming idea: 3 songs for the girls, 1 song for the boys. 3:1 ratio
Tip 4: Don't overdue wordplays. Keep it to 1-3 per night
Tip 5: For proms, military balls and homecomings. DO NOT BRING EVOLVE 50s if you'd like to be hired back. The kids want to hear to bass from the parking lot

The Shehds lights are great. I'm impressed so far. Shehds and both lighting are usually the same exact light without the branding. for mobile djs, Id reccomend the both lighting mh150s for their size, portability and functionality.

Do you set off fire alarms when you "haze the room out"?
it depends on the type of fire alarms, the size of the room, the type of hazer you use, how you use it, and venues permission. but no, ive not set them off at an actual event. I did however accidentally do that at a nightclub that we were programming lights for, after hours, whoops lol
@@djromantics518 hahaha I remember that EXACT time so clearly. One thing I think you should talk about (which I still struggle to find a good way) is how you "ask for permission". I have had a few venues recently not exactly know what it was and its kinda hard to describe it without using the word "fog".
I know fog machines always set them off. Haze is a bit better. Optical sensors are easy to set off
I’m early in the video so apologies if you answer this later but how we feeling about that rev 5? I actually left it home this past weekend. All 3 days. I’m torn about it’s style vs it’s quality

Hey, it's a toadmatic, but they're grossly overpriced. I ended up buying this one used at a decent deal. If you're handy, you could make one yourself with under $1500 worth of materials
