This has got to be one if not the best HS gig log party I've seen on here dude you ROCKED brother ! and you set up looks amazing !! would love it if you can share your playlist on here for us old timers , sometime its a struggle finding the right music to play for a young crowd like this especially a clean set like this . really enjoyed your performance and this video
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures I been rebuilding my dj business and I have been watching gig log video from lots of DJs but you are one of my favorite. I lost a lot of my equipment that was stolen. Im getting things together a little bit at time.
You rocked that party man!! Great job!! Huge setup too! The lights looked awesome! I know that was a lot of work setting up all that gear. You did it by yourself too, right? About how long did it take you to set everything up? Once again, great job!
Almost nice set up and video. Would you be willing to post your set list? I’m doing my first HS dance in a couple of months. Was this an all girls school ? 😁
Thanks! Best of luck at your dance -- this one was a co ed public school, but I'd estimate 75/25 girl to guy rate for those who came. Sure check this link: drive.google.com/file/d/1dUKtA6383g2CBJYYqm15qs-FJSj5vwzD/view?usp=drive_link
Good morning Can you please tell me what stand do you use for the Chauvet Wash? And if you can send me the link? Thank you! You are so sweet on your videos!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I did ask what kind of stand you’ve used with your Chauvet wash fex, I know it is a gravity stand, but , can you send me the link? Thank you ! You rock!!!
School dances can be tough to price because there are many factors that come into play - such as the market/area that the school is in, how large or small the production needs to be, number of attendees, etc. I have a pricing sheet that I use for high schools and colleges in my area. For this specific event, in northern Cincinnati, I charged $1900
Cool! For this size event I do have an assistant. With school dances in general I like having an assistant for several reasons - they can run and grab me some water. If I need, they can help protect me from getting rushed by students. Ha ha, they can intercept any requests for songs which I find to be super valuable because I’m quick mixing and I don’t have time to have too many conversations, and they can take a little video clips for me as you’ve seen in this gig.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures I can definitely see that man. Congrats on the nice clean, set up. I recently went to an all white set up and I’m saving my all black Booth for one of my DJs.
Thanks! Sure, I have an XLR cable coming out of my mixer going into the input of the sub. I then have another XLR cable coming from the output of the sub into my top. I go into the DSP settings of my top and set a crossover for 80 Hz. Sometimes I’ll do 100 Hz. What this does is tells the top speaker not to play anything below the crossover frequency because the sub will handle it. So in this case, the sub handles anything 80 hz and below, and the top will play anything 80 hz and above. Hopefully that makes sense.
Yeah, the gig log is in sequence. I left out a couple tracks or had to cut some out because of TH-cam copyright but they are in sequence to the way I played them. One thing I do intentionally is Bill waves of energy so I tried to go up and then down and up again, which I think creates a more exciting dance experience for the students, or for any event for that matter

I don’t have a link handy - it’s just the standard black gravity stand with a screw hole on the top of the pole
Also? What do we usually charge for a gig like that? I am new Dj and learning with every bit of information!! Thank you

Just got myself a humpter booth - this looks nice and clean! Did you have a roadie to help you set up?
I remember checking out your video on adding the laptop arm to the case, now we got DJ furniture 😂

one question if you dont mind can you please explain about the setup you do on RCF 8003 SUB

U think u the shit (fart) by ice spice
Wait, what?! You played a bollywood song between set?
Yeah! The school has a small mix of Asian students and I wanted to engage with them to :)
Did you played them in that order?
