Stephany Vidal basically they have different functionality on the games they are compatible with. For example, in this game you "train" your amiibo so that it becomes a fearsome fighter. Another thing is yes, they have NFC functionality and that's why you only have to tap the lower part of the amiibo into the screen to read and write data.

If there's no Amiibo option it's possible you need to do a software update. If it works go back to SSB4. Click "Games and More". Then press Amiibo and bam! You cannot set up your Amiibo for super smash bros. Then you can enjoy playing with your newfound friend/rival. Peace! And I hoped this helped :)

I know that the Japanese youth (even older people ,like in their 30s) are obsessed with collectables and toys,but come on this is freakin useless. I have the new 3ds and I couldn't care less for this. It's a typical compulsive buyer marketing ploy...get them all because reasons. Having them doesn't mean you're an idiot though... It's OK. But buying a bunch of these instead of a neat game, that's questionable judgement. It would be great if it offered some really unique must have feature ...like I don't know,a step counter or something.

Most people won't bother. Especially if you're an adult like me. In fact Nintendo themselves probably know they can't sell that many. That's probably why there's been such a low production in numbers of these. I also hate how they fragmented the amiibos...you just can't take any amiibo and use it on any game. That's the biggest flaw ,it also is somewhat a proof that Nintendo didn't really commit to this. I believe they will stop the production immediately after the new home console comes out. Like ALL Nintendo peripherals,it will become useless junk pretty quick ...provided I am correct ,which I cant say for sure for obvious reasons.

The 3ds already has a pedometer., which IS a step counter. It's had that since the release.
