    How do you value yourself - and others. Don't put yourself down if you don't have a large salary. Other things make is far more valuable than the amount you have in the bank.

    Dee, I am a 27 years old woman, living alone by myself since I was a teenager. I had many bad experiences with so called family members and friends.. your videos, your presence and voice give me something that I've never had.. like a mother, a friend and a loving teacher. Most of the time if I am having dinner or lunch, I watch your videos. I am learning a lot from you, life and perspective-wise. Thank you and take care! Lots of love from Germany. xx

    The most precious things in life can't be bought with money. Health and true friends are the two big ones.

      Well diamonds are precious gemstones and they can be bought with money. Health can also be bought with money, too. Healthy food, activewear, a sensible pair of sneakers, supplements and access to healthcare all require money. These are things critical to good health. I do agree that true friends can add to the quality of your life, however, they are not required. It’s okay if you are in a season where you are riding mostly solo. Mental health is more important than maintaining friendships that limit your growth/don’t make you happy anymore.
      Anyways, I simply don’t agree with your comment. My mindset rn is money over friends because diamonds are actually forever.

    I wish more elderly people would make advice videos like this. We have so many videos giving advice on the internet but the majority of them are from people in their 20s and 30s. I am not looking down on the younger generation and some of them do give really good advice, but what the younger generation lack is wisdom - the type that leads to peace & harmony within ourselves or towards others.

    Thank you Ms. Dee. You came to my life in the perfect time.
    You are my TH-cam Gigi, is that ok if I say that?
    Thank you for the words of wisdom. Thank you for spreading the good word and the truth of what is life is all about. My sister and I grew up in a Filipino culture. Born and migrated to U.S. 17 years ago. And now that we are in our late 20’s we are discovering more about the “older generation” or they might call, “the traditional Filipinos” that some of them we’ll most of our families crowd are and have been such a judgement group of people.
    We just don’t understand why? Why bring a family down? Why bring a friend down? Why value our carrier more than our personality?
    We are here in front of them trying to spread love and kindness but they are just blinded with their criticism that they cnt even enjoy each other’s presence.
    The Good news is my sister and I have finally awaken from the truth and we are here to break the generational trauma.

I spent years not being able to do anything, but slowly working on my recovery is most of my work and doing some projects woodworking etc. Getting by financially is the hard part and I've racked my brain trying to think there must be something i can do. So I've just started recording videos of me doing my projects and make little vids.. If I can do projects perhaps filming them might yield something. It helps with a sense of purpose, I'm finding parts hard with verbally articulating or explaining, but i explain i have trouble with that and no one has trolled me.

    Having finally stopped my paid cleaning career just last week, I can honestly say the people I have worked for have always become friends as well as my boss. You get to know there past from years ago ,their families and they love their clean house apartment whatever they live in as well. By the time u reach retirement and have been through all kinds of life experiences, u should have some incite, into how life can change, in a split second. It will make u stronger, or u can choose to curl up in a ball in the corner. Some humans , r more dependent on others. U kinda have to face life like a soldier everyday, especially if u r by yourself.

    I need to understand my value outside of monetary value. The whole point of capitalism is to get as much as you can and pay as little for it as possible. My employer will never pay me what I am worth because they need a profit and I am priceless.

    I actually have a dilemma. II've had "professional" office or teaching jobs, but I want to work in a cafe for the summer and worry people I know former colleagues and the like will look down on me if they saw me, but I just want to do it out of curiosity and as a bit of a hobby to get. a break from mental work.

    • @Cheshirelass
      @Cheshirelass  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Go for it if you can. Let them look down at you - though they probably won't be thinking of you. Good to work in an entirely different way - and if you are teaching it will give you a broader experience of life which will serve you well. D

    Thank you for reminding me of this. My dear late Nanna once said to me to never be ashamed to be a housewife and mother and I’ve always struggled with this and to some extent, still do. I dread the thought of old school reunions and people asking me what I do. I’m proud to have been a full time housewife and Mum but I can’t tell others. I too have been a cleaner and other “menial “ jobs too occasionally just to help us along and now I volunteer for an animal charity but I still feel fairly worthless. Far far too much emphasis is placed on career and earnings and it really shouldn’t. Thank you once again xx
