In my opinion Ronnie was more dominant in the wsc of 2012 but to not to compete a all year and to come back just to play the wsc of 2013 and win it is to me Ronnie's greatest achievement. Just mind blowing.
I'm here to tell you, he will likely never improve upon the performance in 2022, but you couldn't have known that 10 months ago ;) He made every opponent (including John Higgins and Judd Trump) look like complete amateurs. 94% pot percentage for the ENTIRE TOURNAMENT!
His achievements are like his longevity, legendary 👌20 majors 37 ranking titles the most premier leagues the most centuries and 147s keeping hendry Higgins Williams Selby robbo ding trump now Wilson at bay entertaining us for decades keeping snooker afloat in the most competitive era ever keeping sponsors happy and viewing figures up all on his own terms never been a slave to the game or politically perfect....... His aura and presence is unique nobody like him everything he does makes headlines like returning to world number 1 at 43 winning the inaugural coral series and now at 44 he's back at the top as world champion for the 6th time in a format that doesn't suit him🤔amazing achievements pure genius 🙏
I totally agree, well said James Going 👍 21 triple crowns, 7 World's and 39 ranking titles, plus 4 Champion of Champions titles now. What an incredible achievement in sport to win the world title and be number 1 at 46 years old. Well done Ronnie.
Having watched this again I forgot how well Hawkins played in this year's final, against anyone else he'd have had a very good chance of winning the tournament and it took Ronnie O'Sullivan who played excellent all round snooker throughout the final and the 17 breaks over 60 has never being equalled never mind beat since.
God I miss playing snooker with my dad, its thanks to Ronnie that we had so many laughs, one of our favourite random things to say after a red has or two have gone in was to stop and ask, whats the prize for a maximum? Bearing in mind neither of us had a break over 25 in the years we went once a week for a few games together, with an average best most sessions being 10 lol
“What’s the prize for a maximum?” Oh, you made me laugh and shed a tear for you and your dad. I’m a Yank, have never played snooker, but through TH-cam I’ve become a huge fan of the game. Unfortunately, the closest snooker hall is 40 miles to the north in Canada and I can’t cross the border right now, due to the ‘Rona. But when it opens up I’m gonna have a go. Just an amazing game and Ronnie is The Man! Cheers.
@@jefflindeman there is a snooker table in a pool hall somewhere in Jamaica ave, New York. I played there a few years ago. Can't remember the name though.
The 2013 World Championship, what can I say. It seems that the then four time winner and defending champion had never been away. First round, Marcus Campbell, a player who beat Stephen Hendry once in the UK Championship 9-0. Ronnie beat him easily. Then Ali Carter, a repeat of two recent finals, same story, Ronnie won. Perhaps his most impressive was his quarter final against future winner, Stuart Bingham. He reached the Welsh Open final that season but was completely outplayed but his best days was to come. Ronnie O'Sullivan met Judd Trump, already been in the final before but that semi final as it always is are special. So the final and what a final. This player from Kent, Barry Hawkins had exceeded all expectations. He led in the early stages and probably made Ronnie O'Sullivan work hard for his fifth world title, eight centuries in total including six by Ronnie, the best final I have ever seen and Barry played his part, an unbelievable black while making a century clearance, fantastic.
@@iamtheshadows4916 The ridiculous about this is I said that 1 year before when Judd played in the top level. For me it didn't surprise why Judd lose this match, Ronnie's standard is more higher than judd.
O'Sullivan was unbelievable in the final and Hawkins said himself he couldn't have played much better but still lost by 6 frames plus more 60 breaks or above by Ronnie O'Sullivan in this match than any other player in history and I think he had 6 centuries but could have had 12 if he really cared enough Ronnie.Hes not the Goat for nothing.
Well, 9 months after 1st watching this video, Ronnie O'Sullivan now as 8 UK titles as well as 8 Masters titles (he's won both this year and World Championships is next month)❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i cant stand the man but he just makes the game look easier than anyone else ....other world class players just cant replicate the way its all effortless for ronnie ,hes a pleasure to watch in full flow its like he plays a different game to everyone else in the world
But he still played in all sessions, unlike hendry, he would beat his opponent with at least a session to spare. When you have that ability, and add that to Ronnie's ability, it would be over by the end of the first day of the final.

Greatest accomplishment in snooker history to win the world championship then take a year off and come back and win it again.Taking about records that will likely stand forever like the 5 minute 147 in the 97 world championship but this is even harder to do considering he won it in 2012 and without playing until the 2013 tournament and still going on to win it,now this is a record that I don't think will ever be beaten again.
I love watching snooker and playing the game. To the people that put the game on TV for the people around the world. I think it takes away from the player's best performance when they have to sit right beside each other. There are mixed emotions and not having any privacy when they do bad or good shots. I bet if you asked the players they would not approve of it. It's just not right for a player does a bad shot and then got to sit beside the player which he may not even care for.
