V4S MTS for me. Got mine in Aviator Grey with wire spoke wheels. 19” front wheel improves control in low speed maneuvers and is more confidence inspiring in gravel strewn corners than 17” on my MTS 1200S. No handling penalty with counter-rotating crankshaft. A stunningly competent, fast and comfortable machine. Fuel consumption in the 36-39mpg range. Nothing to cry about.
You perfectly and precisely answered all of my questions to steer me to the V4 when I wasn't sure! The only remaining question is if I should get a 2023 on sale or a 2024!
0:52 I agree with that point. Everything is well designed and high quality materials of course it’s expensive but once you ride the Ducati, nothing can come to mind, except the BMW GS series
Test rode both, but the V2 in my opinion is a far better bike for the road, so I ordered one. The V4 is too expensive and too thirsty, your description of the V4 sounds like a Ducati marketing brief😉. In my opinion 95% of road riders would enjoy the V2 more, the same goes for the Panigale and the Streetfighter, save your money and go for the V2 which is not an entry level engine.
Idk where you're from, and where you get your statistic of 95% people would choose v2s. But during my times of exploring the Mediterranean( Greece, Italy, Spain ,) I've noticed most of em ride v4s . Now of course I'm not gonna assume what % of riders would choose v4s over v2s just based on my observation on 3 different countries.
Thank you very much, excellent explanation. I have a 2021 950s and I want to upgrade. I thought about the v4, but in my opinion it is unnecessary and expensive
Everyone has different needs tried 1260 & v4 preffered 1260 because of 17 inch front & twin engine also have panigale v2 which I love but too uncomfortable for long rides
Good video and honest! I actually wouldve bought the v4 but they ran out of them and didn't want to wait also looking forward to big trips, and ducati.
You forget the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso which has fully semi active suspension and 17” wheels so is perhaps an even better candidate for the ultimate tall sports bike than the V2S with performance in the real world that leans towards the V4S thanks to superior power to weight ratio and superb agility & handling. Also available in the SCS semi automatic dual clutch version.
@@davidgalt8107 Sorry, my bad. I expressed this confusingly. There is now semi-automatic suspension on both the front and rear on the latest models. Previously, it was on the front forks only with manual adjustment of the shock. In either case, once correctly adjusted for rider weight etc, the handling is superb. In a different league to bikes with 19” and 21” wheels.
I have the 2021 950s(v2). It’s a great bike but, it has some definite issues. First it’s loud, and as good as it sounds, ear plugs are mandatory for me. The suspension is pretty incredible, and you can tweak and modify until you find your sweet spot for just about any road condition. The brakes however are weak, and I’m going to try to and change the brake pads, but I’m not impressed as more of an active rider. The engine vibration is more annoying than I thought possible. I ride a twisty mountain highways almost daily and the vibrations can numb the hands at higher revs, not to mention the mirrors vibrate so hard that you can’t see behind you. As good as the ergonomics and suspension are, and as beautiful as the bike is, I will probably go back to more of a sport tourer like a ninja 1000sx in the future. More power, more smooth, and more power, oh and less $. Probably not much worse off-road to. Ducati Multistrada gets a 7/10 for me. Still good, could be better.
@@davidhobson7851 I actually got to ride both before buying a discounted 2021 model. I didn’t notice much of a difference, but it’s still a very good motorcycle. I did forget to mention another negative being the gearing. It’s really hard to ride under 40mph. It wants to be in first but it’s loud, vibrates, has clunky throttle feel. I hear re-gearing may help. I have a KTM 890 R Duke as well and it’s got a much better ride by wire throttle response. Ducati could have done better. These are all obviously just my opinions, but I think a lot of my gripes are still very relevant on the v2 s. Overall I think it’s good bike, and so far I can’t bring my self to sell it. But for more than 17k it could be better, even the V2 imo.
That's weird, I have a '21 950S also and habe zero issues with vibrations (except of course how much it shakes if you drop below certain revs). At first I thought seat vibrations could become an issue, but afte the second ride I started to not notice them anymore. The other issues you mentioned are definitely there, but I just labeled them as character and moved on.:D As for the brakes, they could do with a bit more initial bite. Maybe some braided lines and more aggressive pads, as the Brembo hardware is already there?
If comfort is what you want, with low rev grunt, and agility in the Twisties, I would suggest a BMW R1200GS. Kawa ninja 1000sx great sport tourer, GS boxer more versatile adventure tourer.

MCN, Michael Neeves said the same as you, and as motorbike testers go, you cannot beat that. V2S, would be my choice too.
90% of motorcycle TH-camrs are paid to say good things

Picked up my V4S Sport today and hoping my enjoyment only grows
Both gorgeous bikes😍

Great review, thank you!
I luv the v4 but it gets horrible fuel mileage. Id choose the v2s.
Great review, thanks! What brand soft bag were you using on the V2 S? It looks excellent.
SW Motech rear seat bag, recommended.

How can you have fully semi automatic suspension? I would have thought either one or the other. Am I missing something?

That makes sense now...
V2S vs KTM 890 SMT.?
This is not a review, its just some guy reading specs.
can u have spoked wheels on the v2s?
Yes
Hermosas 😍

A lot of it has been cured in the V2

this english sounds absolutely aczentfree,,oxford style,,.
I wish Ducati would just get rid of the 19 inch front/18 rear and give it proper sport touring rubber. Probably
18 inch rear ? What Ducati has an eighteen inch rear ?
The Pikes Peak Multistrada V4 keeps the 17" front and rear. Pricey, but it is an option for pure street riding.
another great video - your team is excellent - so please keep doing English language versions! 👍
Sounds like T800 reading it out
great
Brate, ok, engleski mi nije maternji, ali brate kako nerazumljivo pricas! Kao robot da si!
Lança a multistrada
Foot down @3:41.. Took me a bit to kick that habit
