As weird as it seems to have a boxer as a sports bike, I remember seeing Randy Mamola in the old Boxer Cup in 2002 I think, which was a support series to the MotoGP rounds. A whole grid of booming boxer-twins grinding away their cylinder heads - what a spectacle! 🤯
In 2016 I had the chance to buy a 2006 R1200S, and of course I did. It is highly unlikely that I will ever let that motor go. Even if I ever get the chance to buy an HP, I still think I'll keep it on the side. They are WIERD BIKES, but oh so lovely...
I bet he did it on purpose to troll and get the comment interactions for the algorithm 😂😂 The voice also leaves the plural "s" off the end of a lot of words. It's either AI or not a native English speaker. Either way, the voice does a fair job.
@thecontinuingadventureso-qs5zm Hate to tell you this but the BMW flat twins are boxers. Each cylinder has it's own crank throw so that each piston simultaneously reachs TDC. It is not a 180 degree v-twin if that is what you are alluding to.

Also I think the front suspension killed this bikes legacy. Look at the HP4 very conventional very successful
