This can result in water up to 30 ft deep. I have a friend who worked in Mobile and Louisiana after the big hurricane there a few years ago and he described a line of debris about 27 ft up in the trees. Why is this different from what he's describing? Because he is describing the depth of the water without the waves on top of that water.
