Haven't fished cheeseman in over 25years now. I remember how fantastic it was and the numbers of truly large fish. I'm stuck in Maine now, land of the 6 inch brookie. I remember one day at cheeseman it was very hot and I found a six-pack someone had lost track of staying cold in the river. We hadn't seen another person all day and no other cars in the parking area so I didn't feel bad about drinking them. Pretty hard to improve a day at cheeseman but, that did!
Always a lot of missed fish in cheesman, classic. My TH-cam unsolicited advice to anyone reading this, including myself, is short 20 ft casts is critical in cheesman. You guys did a really good job with this!
I love it! I fish Cheesman too and many of the same spots you are in. I love it because it is so technical but you need to be ready for some serisous frustration. I swear, those trout must be "edumacated" because they found more damned ways to get off my line. However, for the ones I did get, it was definitely worth it. I am always up there in late September and early October for the best results. Thanks for the great video!
Man I went fishing down in there for the first time (I’m from NC) and caught 3 but i only missed one, a big brown but ya’ll making me feel good for only missing one lol
Headed there soon for my first outing. Curious about your indicator. I've been thinking I'd use yarn to avoid spooking 'em, but it looks like you did just fine with foam? Thoughts?
There are a ton of people who swear by yarn indicators for cheesman and they do definitely work! But we have never thrown yarn there… the smallest size airlock or oros indicators have worked just fine for us!
Appreciate it bro! Our go to rig for cheesman is either a coffee rubber legs, egg, or scud as lead fly to a miracle midge or some type of cream/white size 20-24 midge to either another size 20-24 midge like a poison tung/Manhattan midge or a jujubaetis/jujubee midge if there’s a good Baetis hatch!

Great video. How difficult is it to hike into the canyon? Is it a long hike? Thanks for your help.
Some pretty good camera work
Much appreciated!

What happened to Ivan? Oh, wait...I was thinking of Trouts. I'm sure they're flattered by the imitation. 😉
