I was so late to the Chris Cain party but so glad I found him when I did.
I just discovered him, why so late?
One of the best most under appreciated blues players EVER! There’s some young SRV wanna be’s that get national attention who can’t carry his case.
Yes, can't carry his case=well said! He'is burnin; it up here as usual! VERY underrated!
Amen
Chris Cain is in a league all his own. The man is a vastly underappreciated artist. He is a national treasure!
Chris is such a special guitarist, unique and great lines and feeling. This session is amazing.
Horns killin and Cain's phrasing is ridiculous!! He is one of a handful of Blues players that can seriously Jazz it up right. Wish he would blow South Texas way sometime.
This is what live music is all about-a bunch of seasoned players going for all the marbles. This video will be going in my “Inspirational Music” file. Thanks so much for posting this!
Just found this. Everyone who likes blues/jazz/r&b needs to listen to this! I don’t know why I only heard of Chris in the last few years, the man should be better known. Incredible musician, and from what I’ve seen a really cool and nice guy.
I was just watching a recent Chris Cain video, and he plays the same way in this video - 30 years earlier he already had his style down, just keeps getting better with age......!
Hey Chris, I was a student at San Jose State University in 1983. You graced us with your band in the Spartan Pub. Never forgot you. Glad you're still flourishing
Wow! That pick attack is to die for! Chris Cain sure is easily recognizable; top guitarist and great singer!
I was born in 92. Love your music Chris!
This is a true pleasure. Mr. Cain always brings it.
Robert Higgins on drums, Danny Beconcini on keyboards, & Noel Catura Saxophone, what great players, Wow this band sounds so, so good. ' Robert Higgins Rest In Peace Love and miss you. From Anchorage, Alaska. I agree Chris Cain is a vastly under-appreciated artist. Chris Cain is so awesome.
Holy smokes. Chris!! Rocking the stash!!! And some bad azz ax chopping.
[How can I give this more than one "like?!"] Fantastic playing -- love it!
The first blues jazz head banger I’ve ever seen
We saw Chris and the band the year before at BB King's in Memphis..Knocked me out..Also killed me that we traveled by motorcycle from Canada and could've seen Chris & band 1 hour from home the week before.
Great stuff, Suzy! I know Chris is all about the Blues but I love seeing that jazzy side come out.
Oh man .. I feel all coked up at JJs all over again. CC made soooo many memories at that place. Thanks for all great times ..and hangovers
oh yezzz .... dangerous times on stevens creek blvd. and el camino real i played keyboards w/the band about a minute before this? or was it after. 91? 93? blurred memories.
Thanks for posting this two videos of bit younger Chris.I should thank you earlier!
Was at this place called Terra blues listening to the radio while waiting for the band, the song ‘out of my head by Chris Cain comes on… I’m blown away instantly by the intro and don’t get me started on the vocals. This man has inspired me to learn more about melody and guitar. I read he didn’t start playing gigs until around 30, I’m guessing perfecting his craft and then he went to school to learn more. I want to start a band so bad but then I hear music like this and feel like there’s so much more to learn first. Love you Chris, thank you for existing. Love from New York
Why does everyone compare people when it comes to music? I mean they are all individuals and i appreciate them all. I learn from everyone.
Ay man
Mind blown! Amazing, as always from Chris! Love it!
Oh wow Suzy this is the coolest thing I have seen on You Tube in ages. Were you at this show ? I am jealous !! :) Have known about and seen Chris 3 times in about the last 10 years, but had not seen any videos from this early. Chris just such a humble, nice, down-to-earth guy --- thank you this is AWESOME !!! World class playing as always .... Long live Mr. Chris Cain !!!!
Excellent blues, making me feel the blues in a very bluesy sort of way. Yup, that's the ticket.
wow glad I looked him up I remember hanging at this guy's house back in the 80s with a group of people I remember going to what was it ft Atlantis in I think it was Los Gatos somewhere playing in a little bar over there when they were the king price band awesome I love Chris always have always will and your beautiful wife to

Guys like Chris Cain and Kirk Fletcher I could listen to all day
Thanks for posting this!
Thanks a lot for this beautiful video. Amazing !
More smoking guitar work in Pittsburgh. Benson and Ponder would give a thumbs up.
Yeah 😊
I SEE MY VIDEO POSTED - SASHA KOLEDIN.
Are you the filming person? I'll have to ask Chris. I'm not sure he remembered who filmed it but I'm happy to give you credit if it isn't on the video.
@@suzytyler4793 HI SUZY - YES - HE WAS AT MY HOUSE WITH HIS BASS MAN IN SEWICKLEY, PA.THE YEAR BEFORE 1991. DEFINITELY GIVE HIM A BIG HI HO.
WHAT A GREAT BLUES ENTERTAINER N FRIEND - LONG MAY YOU RUN - THOSE WERE SPECIAL DAYS WEN YOU USED TO PLAY THE DECADE BAR IN PITTSBURGH, PA.- BEST WISHES N BE SAFE.
Chris remembers you well and immediately started telling me stories about their time there. He sends his warmest regards! I'll be sure to add an edit to the description! Nice to meet you!
@@suzytyler4793 THANK YOU - BEST WISHES TO YOU BOTH.
great!!!!
I think I was at this show.
Another example why radio sucks. You never hear him on the radio. I found him in a spin class in 2001.
Chris Cain's album Raisin' Cain was the second most played blues album on blues radio stations in the USA for 2021. Sirius XM BB King Bluesville station played Hush Money and I Believe I Got Off Cheap often. Of course, finding stations devoted to blues is tough.
CC's passages smoke!
14m44s is someone shaving or have they got an earth loop in the PA?
1:29 to hear beginning without weird intro...
10:20 that rules!
Suzy thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are welcome, Rafa! Isn't it great to have all this cool vintage stuff!!
Who ever knew Jim Croce was reborn and much less channeling B.B King?
jump to 1m23s to skip no music intro.
Larry Carlton anybody
kinda. big influence I am sure, as was Robben. but Chris takes it way deeper into the Albert/BB kinda blues.
I think he completely destroys Bonamassa...DESTROYS!!! I can't get through one of Joe's songs, his voice is terrible and his solos are licks he's ripped off, no originality. Chris is the best!
Can't I give a hundred likes to your comment?
@@marioromero84 I'll raise you a THOUSAND!
don't even really belong in the same sentence ;-)
Big Toe liking Chris is not mutually exclusive to liking Joe. Joe has never claimed to be a blues guy, just that he loves blues and does blues based music. Chris is a blues guy, and performs straight blues. Should he be more famous and revered? Hell Yes. But that does not have anything to do with the work JB did to get where he is. You are comparing apples to oranges. CC is better than all of his contemporaries, of which JB is not a member. You do not need to degrade one musician to love another
@@Sargeslide well said. Bonamassa helps bring blues to the masses.
Though i would differ with "pure blues" . Aint no such thing. even with Muddy Waters. Chris is as much funk fusion and jazz as he is blues.
His Soloing and comping. All those imaginary genre lines.
All that talent 💪 and playing for gas money. ⛽ SMH
Gas is expensive, these days, and he's still doing alright. More importantly, he's still playing, he has a decent fan base and he's writing great music, signed by Alligator Records. How about you? Are you playing?
