Glad you liked the GP 40-10 antenna. I used one for about 8 years. Got my DXCC up to 297 with that antenna. Liked it so much that I bought the 80-10 antenna. I worked 80 meters DXCC in 12 days with that antenna. These things REALLY work. If you want to try 80, give the GP 80-10 a go.
Hi Tracy, thanks for another nice review. I installed my 10-160 meter 43' Zero Five vertical antenna about 5 yrs ago. I installed 30 radial wires dug down a couple inches from the ground surface. It's my only HF antenna now since losing my 56' tower and all associated wire antennas to a Canadian ice/snowstorm. Tom was great to deal with and the antenna has been a real performer. I'm 80% QRP and 100% CW now for the last 10 years. If I can hear them, I can work them. Very happy customer. Highly recommended quality product.... 73 Brent VA3YG
Tracy, I appreciate your videos. They are informative and well thought out. I am interested in learning as much as possible about verticals, wire antennas, and fiberglass masts since I have limited room with no trees in my yard. Thanks again, Jim WX7Q

Great Video! Very imformative! I'm thinking of getting the 10-80 version. Question, would an antenna tuner at the base of the antenna work with this type of setup?
Thanks Tracy! Whenever I see you post a product review, I’m sure to watch. Looks like a great antenna. As I get myself set up in the new QTH, I’m thinking about adding a vertical to the mix. Looks like you found a winner! Best 73 my friend! Hope you are well. K2CJB

My property is 50x100 with much of that taken up by concrete and buildings. In the small space, I have managed separate full sized antennas for 160 and up. I do have a Zero Five as well. It is very well built as you mentioned. Over the years, I have had it set up factory, as a off-center Fed vertical and now in the current configuration on my QRZ page. After degreasing the tubing, it was etched with zinc chromate and then given a few coats of flat black paint. The zinc chromate allows the spray paint to stick. It plays well on 40 m and up. I find it to be one s unit less than other antennas many but not all times. I hope to catch you on the air, 73 de K2LED. There is a weekly 28.330 net at 8:00 p.m. in Western New York on Tuesday.
Thank you for telling me about your station and your experience! Interesting that you have "hacked" the ZeroFive antenna...I've heard of others doing that as well. Thank you for letting me know about the 10m net. 73 from VE3TWM.
You could run a endfeed 1/2 wave antenna in the inverted L shape from those trees easy. You would go up vertical then across horizontal over to one of the trees.
This is my main home antenna. I have it on a tv mast and it's ground plane is sitting about 2 feet above my roof. It will tune easily with my TS-570's internal tuner on 160,80,40,20,17,15,12 and 10 meters (but not 60 meters). YBTW, it does NOT need a tuner on 40, 20, and 10 with a less than 1.5:1 across most of those bands as is.....Yes it has filled my logbook on phone (SSB and AM) from 40 through 10 from all over the wolrd (even the complete other side in the Indian Ocean) and has put digital and cw contacts on 160 and a few phone on 80 as well. The 9:1 unun is amazing. Sure it's not vastly effecient on lower than 40 but it still WORKS to make contacts. I love verticals. I now am a POTA (Parks on the Air) enthusiast and use an 17 foot Wolf River Coils vertical for portable ops. Between the two verticals I am having a ball. Make no mistake, I ran wire dipoles and they have their place (night time ops for 40 and 80 in my case on AM to the "regulars") but for DX, and no tower and rotor beams, verticals are low angle DX machines if setup correctly. I believe my success has a lot to do with my location and installation. I have heavy gauge ground wire coming from the UNUN at 18 ft to an 8 ft ground rod. I live in a FLAT terrain near the Gulf of Mexico and the antenna "sees" a straight line horizon in a 360 degree circle. A twister passed over my home and broke the insulator. Tom (the owner of Zero Five) sent me another one no questions or money asked for ... nearly 3 years after the purchase! It's been through hurricanes without coming down this year with near 100 mph gusts (I live 25 miles as the crow flies to the gulf of mexico Vermilion Bay in Louisiana. If you wonder if it's worth it? It is. 73 de KX5JT
Nice results. How was the noise floor with the vertical? It sounded pretty good. A friend does CW only but really likes his Proantennas I-Pro Traveller vertical dipole for 40, 30, 20, 15, 17, 12 and 10m. The setup is very easy for portable/POTA.
Thank you for your comment! This vertical did not live up to the reputation in regards to noise...it did very well actually with low noise levels across the bands. I have not heard of that Traveller vertical, i'll have to look it up.
Great review! I'm about to purchase this antenna next week from GPS Central (Radio World) in Calgary. Just curious if there was any issues since you've had it and how it has held up over the winter? Thanks, 73 from VE6GCM.

Thanks. I have an A99 made by Solarcon. I bought it for CB many years ago and use it in my small front yard on HF. It is 1:1- 1:2 SWR on 12 meters so I use it as an antenna on that band without a tuner I can work 10 thru 20 meters but I need a tuner for that. It is mounted on a T-post and is about 20 feet high at the apex. There are no radials. I have an ugly balun (ugly choke) near the feedpoint and use around 70 ft. of RG8X coax. I run barefoot at 100 watts with a Kenwood TS 140S. I may upgrade to the I-Max 2000 as funds allow. KC3BXZ Joe 73
