I was able to glue my rear taillight panel onto the body before painting and the chassis slides in just fine. Nice work Chris - one of my favorite cars!
I guess that green is your favorite color, why? Any and all model, car ir truck in green has a very especial touch. This green interior is absolutely sweet. This is a piece of work! Kudos.
I'm happy to see this kit because you only tend to see later Firebirds from the 1970s with the "Screaming Chicken" on the bonnet or otherwise garish custom versions. I love the purity of the looks of the original model depicted here and I think this will go well with my "Smokey and the Bandit" 1977 model.
The weather has been crazy here in Southern Washington state also Another great build Cris an thanks again for the time you invest for are videos I appreciate them 👍
Nice kit, I have been waiting for a good first generation Firebird since dinosaurs walked the planet.... It's rather chilly here in the flat lands just below you.👍
Since the rear taillight panel can't be installed until the last steps in the assembly I like to attach it to the body using Elmer's school glue or a similar weak glue, paint the entire unit as one, then carefully remove the rear panel after the paint dries. That ensures even coverage on the panel and the body. Chris, yet another great review and gorgeous build! Rock on my brother!
Back in '68 my buddy wanted to buy one but he was so broke he could only afford a Firebird 399 ! 56 years later and it's still not funny. At least your build is spot on ! Thanks BYW our power and "WEB" was out for nearly a week. After a boot up, the first TH-cam up was this one !!
Cool Build. Can’t wait til it’s available. I’ll buy it, just for a couple decals, for a different project. Then I’ll be getting rid of the rest of the kit.
Great job always top notch I love this build I have always been a firebird Trans am type of person even though I have a 2020 LT1 camaro was sad when they quit making pontiacs
I was looking for this exact car today at hobby lobby and I had no idea they just started making it lol I’d love to get it to build for a good friends grandpa since he has a real 68
I have two of those. One I have started to build as stock, the other one will be custom and I'll try to fit the LS1 and the mechanical parts from Revell '98 TA Ram Air (Ain't sure if the Ram Air is the same as the TA WS6, so I write WS6 here).
Been watching your vids. I would like to contact you for some advise on starting a modelers channel. I build all types of models . I enjoy your informative vids on kits. Great enthusiasm !
Looks Great! Is this new tooling or a reissue of the one with the purple Firebird on the box top? It's been awhile, but I don't remember that one having as many parts. Thanks!
I’ve actually started working on this kit. I watched you build it and I love the 68 Firebird. It has the whole front grill chromed, silly reason I guess, but we’ve all got our fetishes, one mine is chrome. I must confess that I watched another video, cause I get ideas watching other creativity and getting ideas. Neither of you mentioned a quirk I seem to be having. I guess it depends on if you’re an optimist or a pessimist, but withe the Pontiac rally wheels, it seems that either the tires are to big for the wheels, or the wheels are to small for the tires. The wheels literally almost fall through the tires. Was this an issue with you?
hey chris it would have been easier to prime the body parts a flat green before painting the gloss green over it just afriendly reminder buddy your friend john
How long do you wait to paint after primer? My paint seems like it’s not dry. I’m having trouble with painting. Thanks nice build love the color choice
Depending on the primer I let the body dry overnight before attempting to paint it. Don't forget to warm up the paint before you spray it. Hope this helps!
Please understand... I support your site but I really wish you'd research the real cars for a Coupla minutes before you build. The issue with the rear facia would disappear had you done that. It would make your final product soooo much better!
Love that Firebird body style. Would look great with a set of Cragars! 👍👍
Thanks for showing us ways we can make a fine looking model that looks like a lot of fun to do and not obsessive or tedious work!
Ur right about that..he keeps the peanut butter on the bottom shelf for all us kiddies to reach .great channel
Best model builder site on TH-cam!
Thanks
George 😊😊
Glad you think so!
Grear video Chris, keep em coming.. I'll keep watching. 1st
I was able to glue my rear taillight panel onto the body before painting and the chassis slides in just fine. Nice work Chris - one of my favorite cars!
mind blowing build loved like shared
That’s a nice looking car. Really impressed with the interior. Thanks for sharing 👍🇦🇺
I like the color you chose, and think the interior looks great.
The green interior is awesome. Lots of cars came with that color. Great build!
That's one very nice looking model chris great workmanship mate
Going to be a "must have" for me. Thanks for another great video Chris.
Marvelous car and excellent craftsmanship.
Awesome build. I love the 68 Firebird. The color was a perfect choice. Excellent video!
I can't believe I never saw this kit before! Beautiful! I just found my father's day gift! 😂
WOW! That is one sharp '68 Firebird Chris! Well done!
I guess that green is your favorite color, why? Any and all model, car ir truck in green has a very especial touch. This green interior is absolutely sweet. This is a piece of work! Kudos.
That interior, amazzzzing! Well done!
Great work Chris I can't wait to see what's next
Great build. Motivated to try this one out! Thanks for your show. Always excited to catch the next episode.
Really great build
Excellent build. You did a great job with all of the details. Thanks for sharing.
I like your color choice for the interior! That works pretty good together and gives me a clue for my 1972 GTO :)

As again Chris nice built like the colors
The weather has been crazy here in Southern Washington state also

Nice kit, I have been waiting for a good first generation Firebird since dinosaurs walked the planet....
It's rather chilly here in the flat lands just below you.👍
Nice build and color combinations. The decal sheet looks better than the original kit. I still have an original, sealed kit.
Thanks for sharing.👍
Great build !! Absolutely beautiful color!!

Lovely kit, nice job with those silver lines, congrats on your steady hand. Best regards from Slovenia.

Great kit! Yours turned out awesome Chris! 😎👍
Cool Build. Can’t wait til it’s available. I’ll buy it, just for a couple decals, for a different project. Then I’ll be getting rid of the rest of the kit.
Looks very nice!
Nice build sir!
It's really cool. 👍
Coming any day now. My distributor just received on 2/26/24.
Great build as usual
Love it!

Always dug this kit ❤the amt one is one i have....with the ohc 6 cylinder that De Lorean envisioned making this a European type sports coupe beater
Sky blue would have been excellent. Just my opinion
Pontiac had an optional engine dress package which include factory chrome valve covers and air cleaner lid. I had that package on my 69 GP 428 SJ
Hey Chris, that's a great looking Firebird. Kinda looks like it might be time to get another bottle of Glosscoat though.
👍👍
I say if you have a production copy, it’ll probably be on the shelf within three months or so.
I have two of those. One I have started to build as stock, the other one will be custom and I'll try to fit the LS1 and the mechanical parts from Revell '98 TA Ram Air (Ain't sure if the Ram Air is the same as the TA WS6, so I write WS6 here).

I owned a real one of these once. It was red with a white interior.
I've found that the closest color to the Pontiac V-8 engine color is Dupli-Color GM Light Blue metallic. It's almost a dead ringer for it.
I like that narrow tip pen better than Panel Liner.
Is the pen sold at Hobby Lobby?
When will this kit be available to purchase
Couldn't find pre order link in description
Great build Chris. A hood tach AND a tach on the column? I realize hood tachs were a gimmick…very cool, but too much vibration to read them.
that's Pontiac Verdoro green-this kit is a reissue
Looks Great! Is this new tooling or a reissue of the one with the purple Firebird on the box top? It's been awhile, but I don't remember that one having as many parts. Thanks!
The only 1st gen firebird I like is the '69, just a personal preference
Never see you remove mold lines or glue seams. Is that something you do off camera, or something you skip?

Is there a good link as to where to buy this kit ???

Thanks ill give that a try
I usually wait a full day, unless it's above 75. Then I let it set in the sun for 30. min.
Thanks for the help, I’m just getting back into this and spray paint has changed since last time I have used it

Where can I find this model
If you watch the end of the video he specifically says it’s not out yet.
My Dad had one of these, sold it when i was 14 for $500...😢
I thought the term was "sprue" not "tree".
"Tree" refers to the entire frame the parts are attached to. "Sprue" is any or all sections of the frame/tree that are not parts.
Hope this helps!
Well, that's terrible if he can't put it on. We're in trouble if we buy that kit😅😮😊 i'm sorry
