This is one of the all-time greats in guitar and music in general. It's a pleasure to able to say something about this legend. I use to listen to him around the Orange County area when I was a kid. What an inspiration. Thank you for the many years of excellent music. Pure taste........John Heussenstamm
Good grief! Ron is cuttin' a fat hog on this one- one of the best, most intelligent guitar versions I've ever heard of this tune, and the drummer knows samba choro and bahia rhythms- not common even nowadays... bass guy is ultra cool. Bless you for posting!!!
Ron The Best Of Chords Melody Best Jazz Guitarplayer and Teacher .... Thanks a lot For Your Wonderful Playing and Lessons of G.I.T....!!!! I'm Still Working on it...THANKS A LOT..!!! Wish a New Recording... SO GREAT
Eschete is playing bass on the 7-string guitar during the bass solo. If you look closely you can see him useing his thumb to play the bass line while grabbing chords with his fingers. i saw him do this live back in the 80's.

And the bass player plays three- (or just two-)part chords from 1:50 to accompany the guitar solo.
Hey John,
You got that right. Ronne is truly one of the greats. I stole a lot of stuff from him.
P.S.
You're not so bad yourself.
who was playing bass when the bass was soloing?
why do I have difficulty thinking you are the guitarist recording with Gene Harris but you don't sound like him here/
