How they would go about killing you would entirely be up to the victim's family: they could offer you a quick, merciful death, or they can get very creative and torture you however they wanted, drawing out your suffering for a long, extended amount of time until your body gives up and you expire on your own, just like the lady in this story. If you got caught before the victim's family had time to bury them and your own family cannot save you, your execution would be timed to coincide with the sacrifice of the animals and your body would be laid in the grave with your victim. (However, this is only if your victim's family is merciful and decides not to bury you alive like the woman in the story.) Depending on the severity of your crime and the circumstances surrounding the murder (accidental, self-defense, intentional, ect...) your soul would either become your victim's slave for a while until you work off the debt you created, or your soul would be condemned to our version of hell and you would never be able to escape and reincarnate or join your own ancestors.
