The key is for the glove box. Not in case the key runs out of batteries. It’s called the vallet key so that you can lock items in your glove box if you vallet your car.

One time I was on a free way and from 80mph I applied the brake all of a sudden and the engine rev to its max and within 3 seconds! 💥 pow and people were staring at me 😂. Another thing is with ever gear shifts there is a pops and and when you apply the brake you hear pow pow and the car actually jerks your back. It’s a lot fun I am telling you. I lost money on my trade but hey, I am happy.

Its called "crabbing" . Also thumping noises. Well known problem. Merc refuse to repair it.
