SURPRISE...I Just Added Another One To Our Fleet. Ford L.G.T. 165 Closed Sided Garden Tractor.

- This one took me a day to get running. First... I had to remove the engine, clean the breaker points then pull the head and replace the head gasket, after that I replaced the ignition coil and condenser...then I changed the starter motor, pulled the flywheel and checked the flywheel key, then I installed the engine, fixed the wiring and started the old tractor up. This is the tractor I've wanted for a while now...I seen it for sale about a year ago but had to wait till the price went down before I could afford it. Ford L.G.T. 165 Garden Tractor Closed Sided.

My dad built a wooden float like that when I was a kid, pulled it with an 8n ford leveled our fields spent many days on that tractor floating our fields.
It’s a cool little tractor. Those old Kohler cast-iron engines are great as well. I seen some of those that had been used for hundreds of hours and they just keep going and going. I really love the homemade land plane you built out of wood. That’s awesome. :)
It’s too bad you don’t live near a city. People throw these away all the time if they get old and break they just say screw it it’s time to buy a new one. I had a friend who lost his job and he just started picking up free lawn tractors and fixing them and selling them for three or $400 with a $60 repair but I found once you move out to the country they’re a lot harder to find.

nice tractor people dont give the little guys credit they do a lot of work for their size i have some 60-77 sears suburbans that i garden with and a john deere 214 with a blower and tiller love how efficent the small ones are
The family tractor! We still have ours and if it makes you feel better, it's in way worse shape than this😅 I wouldn't let the family junk it out after it broke down in 1998 because of sentimentality. I just like the look of these old tractor compared to the plastic power wheels they sell at Lowes these days.
You have a good eye for rusty treasures - I really like the old Ford Garden Tractors. If there is a fan for the HST, make sure it is in good shape.

What year is the Ford LGT I had a areins. GT they bought the GT's 74 or 75 mine 18 Kohler engine twin cylinder I can put a loader on backhoe had. 3 pt hitch 3 power takes offs from 70 when they were ford up to 2000 any implement from that time spend will work on any tractor in those years for instance you can come on Deck from the 70s on a 2000 tractor or vice versa
