Even a 1W Led (and that looks like a 5-10W LED) from your trusty el cheapo China manufacturer (with their bad effency:5-30%) can produce enough heat to ingite the cardboard and wood. Oh and don't forget diodes (The D in LED) lower their resistance with increasing heat: heat=more power =more power = even more heat. For comparison with a 1/4W resistor powered an 1W you can ingite fireworks....

I like the idea of stealing the limelight from these mediocre trash channels and improving them. Like that one guy on YT shorts that spoils the endings of all those click baity shorts that start a story then tell you to like and subscribe for part 2.
I see this as a great project to do with your kids to teach them how things work and to construct, especially with kids spending significantly more time at home. Obviously, an adult making something that's actually going to be used would use better materials. But this is something fun and quick.

Выглядит красиво, но 1) надо сделать хоть минимально радиатор для светодиодов, да будет не так красиво но зато проработает больше. 2) светодиодам нужен обязательно резистор,даже если они потребляют 5 или 4,5 вольт примерно, хз на сколько они рассчитаны, но все равно надо резистор ставить. А так, пару доработок и светильник реально годный

That is because the poor LEDs are running off 5V with no current limiting or LED controller. It will not be bright for very long before the LEDs burn out.

Best of all, metal objects next to uninsulated solder joints on a base of easy melt plastic and cardboard, assembled by someone too lazy to use a drill. For best results, use with the cheapest USB plug on ebay....
