This one hurt hard! Rickey was my favorite player as kid! I met him after a Yankee game at Yankee Stadium back in 89 shortly before he got traded to the A’s! He shook my hand and said what’s up little man and drove off in his Red Sports Car! I will never forget that day! May he Rest in Peace!!
Rest in paradise Rickey,,the greatest all around baseball player in the history of MLB in my opinion...🕊🕊🕊🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🍃☘🍀🪁🎈🎈🎈👑💎🛡⚓✈⛵🛶🪂🌉🌇🙏🏿✝️....Also,,much respect to Willie Randolph for taking the time to honor Rickey,,Willie was a dynamic player as well...👏🏿👋🏾👊🏿💥💫💣🎖...
Yup...and hits us Yankees fans hard (who followed them in the 80s)....as a boy I idolized Ricky, Donnie, Dave, Willie, Rags and those mid to late 80s Yankees teams.
My first baseball player that i followed was Willie Randolph. Will always treasure those days as a child. Class act all the way. Rickey was a beast, so much fun to watch. RIP badass.
after 25 mlb seasons he loved the game so much he played another 160 games in indy ball stealing another 63 bases, 14 homers and .280 at 45-46 years old. what a player.
You guys were my best Childhood memories Willie, you were a amazing and amazing to us New Yorkers who loved you so much. Ricky words can't explain the person You were Happy birthday in heaven! I will love you guys always and forever
😢 it's hard to say goodbye to the legend......I was lucky when I get a chance to watch Rickey Henderson when I was a baby in 2001 when he was with the San Diego Padres, then in '02 Red Sox and 2003 Dodgers his last game... RIP
Rickey was a teammate of everyone. He played everywhere. Bluejays fan here. When we got him it was like, finally, he’s with us and not them. Never a bad trade for either side, but when he was on your team, you always thought something good was going to happen.
And thank you Mr Randolph. Wow. Today would have been Rickey’s 66th. That’s tough. So hard for his beautiful family. Bless them🙏 on this Christmas dear Lord.
Rest in peace Rickey Henderson, MLB Hall of Famer & MLB's all-time stolen base leader. The greatest leadoff hitter in baseball history. One of my all-time favorite New York Yankees.
Losing Willie, Orlando, Pete, Fernando, Rocky and now Rickey all in the last six months or so -- some HoFers, all greats and legends, and each a tough loss for MLB and baseball fans everywhere. RIP. A side note: Willie Randolph's backdrop is pretty amazing!
130 steals in 1982 was amazing . Yet the thing i find most amazing is at 40 years old in 1998 he lead the League in steals wirh 66 . At 40 ! He was one of my all time favorite MLB players . I always wished he could have played for the Tigers . He did play for my second favorite MLB team the Mets so i guess that's okay .
Willie was the best #2 hitter ever. I hated when Steve Sax came to the Yanks , #1 cause he sucked, but mostly because he had no clue how to bat behind Rick.
Sax had a couple of really good years with the Yankees. Too bad they sucked when he was there. Him and Ricky were only teammates for a few months in ‘89 before Ricky was traded to Oakland.
Rip Rickey. absolute ball legend, so fun to watch. he could have been a hall of fame running back, no doubt. he was that naturally athletic. what a character too.
In Baseball there are players that if you have to play them they create fear . I would say people like Ruth , Cobb , Mantle . Kofax , Gibson , Jackson and Henderson . I am not slighting other great players but the ones mentioned actually produced fear on what they could do in a baseball game to make you make you lose
Mr Randolph..... the big red machine was in the 70s. Not 1990 The 1990 is the nasty boys, marge schott / st bernard Red w Sweet Lou at the helm before he got fired
As a weapon that pitchers feared, and a guy who wasn't on PEDS, I'd say yes, Rickey Henderson is a top 10 player all time. Pitchers were terrified to walk him, and if they laid one down the middle, he could hit it out. His speed and aggressiveness to steal bases caused pitchers to throw almost all fastballs to guys hitting behind Rickey when he was on base. Teams would have to start their best throwing catcher when he played. He impacted what other teams did.

my favorite player of all time. I'm hurt....
Met Rickey unexpectedly back in 2013 and he agreed to take a photo with me. He is the best leadoff hitter ever

Randolph is such a class act. A true ambassador of Baseball.
I know Willie's gotta feel this hard 😢💔.
RIP Rickey Henderson 🕊️🌹🙏🏼.

I thought Rickey was going to live til age 90. RIP the self-proclaimed Greatest of All Time.
self-proclaimed? Fan proclaimed greatest of all time leadoff hitter and base stealer.
@@tonylvezOP wasn’t trying to be insulting. Rickey literally said “I am the greatest of all time!” 😂
I thought he would live forever! 😂😢
@@johng.4711 He said that after stealing the base that broke Lou Brock's stolen base record. ............... th-cam.com/video/lssLGZH9fQM/w-d-xo.html

Reggie was the stir of the drink, but Rickey was the cherry on top!
Rickey played so long that when he played in the independent leagues after his MLB career he was a teammate of Willie's son Andre on the Newark Bears.
Willie’s top skill, drawing walks has become much more respected since he retired.
"Ricky gone." 🕊

Yep it's been a rough year for losing half a dozen Hall of Famers 😢😢

It’s a crime Randolph didn’t get another manager job
Ricky love ricky
Ricky was the best player I ever saw.
My top 5 are 1)Barry Bonds 2) Ken GRIFFEY JR. 3) Alex Rodriguez. 4) Albert PUJOLS. 5) Rickey Henderson
love the aquarium
Rickey is more intimidating than Bash brothers, Big Hurt, Judge etc

Those '85 Yankees were one of the best Yankee teams ever, they just didn't win
BCUZ Toronto and Boston were better
@bobbenbrown123 Toronto best by one game, Boston won in '86
Pitching.
A number 2 starter away from a division win.
So very sad. Gone too soon
I hate what Minaya did to Willie, he would have been one of the greatest managers ever

Willie Mays and Hank Aaron and Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio and Mike Schmidt and Johnny Bench
#30 in NY is willie and Bernard andcwhen nyy and nyk let players wear there #30,it looks wrong
I hope yankees have a #24 patch on uni this year
they definitely will.
Hall of Famer.24..😊

Rickey is a to 10 player all-time. Yeah, I said it.
Yeah I agree with you how many other players lead all time in 3 different stats I don't know of any!!!!
Lead off hitter...YES! All time top 10.... I gotta agree to disagree

Prankster?
One of the greatest ballplayers of all time. They don't make them like that anymore!
