**there are 2 pivotal events since Floor Jansen came aboard NW in late 2012 #1 Wacken 2013 - #2 Beste Zangers 2019 at this popular Dutch tv show filmed on Ibiza some top Dutch singers past & present get together and the person on the center couch for the day has one of their songs or a song that has meaning to them sung back to them reinterpreted by the other singers,novel idea .
Floor opened the show with the 1st song below and just blew everyone's mind,only two of the other singers knew who Floor was but none of them had heard her sing with such versatility,after the 8 day run of the show Floor's & NW's popularity soared,stadiums filled up and ticket sales shot up.btw since Floor joined NW & after this show NW's fan base has tripled . on Mama by Samantha S.Floor completely changes the tempo and song structure ,the song is about Samantha wanting to be more like her Mom, Que Se Siente by Rolf is originally a merenge ,mambo type song so of course Floor does it her way,Winner by Tim A. he wrote for his brother who has Spina Bifida,

Before the song "Shoemaker" on their current album, Floor said that this was the hardest track to perform live. It doesn't seem as technically varied or demanding of styles or really super high notes so it doesn't make sense to us non-musical people but she said it is hard to not crack her voice on some of the higher belts. Worth noting that - like all the tracks in Wacken 2013 - Ever Dream was written for someone else with different styles and in a more operatic register.
Yes, it was written for Tarja, and regardless of how much I appreciate Floor, for this song, and the same for Sleeping Sun (and Phantom of the Opera), I really prefer the older versions (from End of an Era, it probably does matter I was at a concert a couple months before that recording. I did see and hear Floor perform live, but that was before she joined Nightwish.
Curiously, I do rather prefer Floor's interpretation of Ghost Love Story.
Every time I watch or listen to Nightwish I just get happy, it's so damn good....and they love doing what they do, Floor puts so emotion into every song....and you can feel it.
Agreed... "My Walden" and especially "Alpenglow" are particularly great feel good songs. In the case of "Alpenglow" I love how Floor introduces the song at Wembley 2015 by saying "This song, this song just makes you feel great. I mean, if you didn't already feel much better than earlier today or maybe even fantastic by now then this song will kick you right in to it... how about that?".....and then at the end Floor asks "feeling better?". I also adore how happy she is loving life during "Alpenglow" in particular and those adorable little Floor dances . 🙏😊👍❤️

Agree 100%. I'd not heard of Nightwish or Floor until around 18 months ago at the age of 56 and thought that I had heard all the best music from all genres... then, Nightwish with Floor came along and turned my musical world upside down and inside out. Phenomenal band 🙏😊👍❤️
@PaulOutdoors very similar story for me, about five years ago aged fifty two my old singer made me listen to Ghost Love Score from Wacken and I was instantly hooked, and have remained so ever since!
@@jimharris367 Great to hear Jim how you were introduced to Nightwish. A good friend of mine kept pestering me to give them a listen. Eventually I relented and watched and listened to "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wembley 2015 and I was blown away and have been ever since. 👍😊

Tuomas is an unrivalled composer, able to evoke such powerful emotions and the band are clearly hugely empathic to be able to play the songs with such passion, particularly Floor. I've been a lifelong Metalhead but really wasn't interested in Nightwish or Symphonic Metal in general, I thought it would be pompous and a little ridiculous - and then Chris saw them headline at the Bloodstock Festival in 2018 and was surprisingly blown away , and then sent me a link to GLS and insisted I watch it! I learnt the error of my ways 😊

I’ve been a hardcore music fanatic for over 50 years now especially live performances and I haven’t seen any band that can match them vocally musically stage performance sound engineering they are a freak of nature and I’m so glad I got the chance to experience their gift with them

I find it hard to believe that these guys have been killing it since 1997 and I had NO idea that they even existed.....now it's just about the only thing I listen too.
Floor is such a beautiful person. She is so down to earth. We the world was shut down she made videos jus or her fans abouthr life on her little farm in sweden. Under one video she wished me a happy birthdays. It is something inwoll treasure forever. In the same video she commented asing al her fans to wish a happy birthday to anyone they see that have commended that it was their birthday.
I wonder if the people who saw Mozart play or Michelangelo paint had the same feelings like we do, when we witness this timeless masterpiece of art. The whole concert belongs up there.

Have watched all your nightwish reactions and will watch all you do. In your reactions you have asked what it's like to be there, that fans are crazy. I live in Ontario Canada and have been a nightwish fan my whole life. Born in 1993 , night wish form in 96, in 97 im at my granmothers house in Switzerland, nightwish are literally on the radio, im mesmerized by them, dance and sing and fall down on the floor after the song is over. My grandmother had this all on her VHS camcorder. Everyone in my family has seen it numerous times. I buy everything nightwish put out. I grow up and wait. I meet someone special and wait. We have kids and still I wait. Then one day my grandmother calls, nightwish are coming to Vancouver. She got us tickets and will meet me there. It's 2300 kms from my place across the country to Vancouver. I leave in my crappy old nissan truck, it breaks down in Calgary. I write nightwish on a piece of cardboard and stand on the highway. Within half an hour a couple from Hallifax pic me up going to nightwish. Finally waited my whole life to that point and I'm now one of those fans losing their mind at a nightwish concert with family and friends, now part of the army. I have never been to another concert since nor do I need to be.
Life is too short, so I only watch Nightwish (with Floor) video reactions from now on.

I have one thing to say, and it is only my opinion. It is this: If a Nightwish song is included on the 2013 Wacken set list it is the BEST version of that song. This concert is a chain of perfect performances. I’ll allow an exception for “I Want My Tears Back Now.”
I have listened to most every song / concert on TH-cam.....and like you I believe this Wacken performance is by far the best. It's hard to say exactly why, but I think because Floor was so new and she was giving it 110% it just shows in the songs. It is pure enjoyment start to finish.

And if you check out whatever little footage there is of her previous bands, you'll realise that it's actually pretty normal. :)
@@davidphillips4706 Yeah, I think the entire band was giving 110% that night. Floor to cement her entry into the band, headlining this prestigious event, major DVD recording. Who knows the key reason? The hair, the clothes, the stage? I just know it is near perfection. I've been to a lot of memorable concerts in my 69 years, and I regret not seeing this one live. Thank God they captured it for posterity.
