Almost 60 years ago...I can't believe! I'm 15 and I'm from Russia, in here almost all people in my age listening agressive modern hip hop,but this fact don't be mess around with me and I'm listening Ray Charles and more other artists from this period already 5 years and I'm nothing to regret😁
Hey I’m trying to get my head around theory after playing music for the last 40 years and this song has a lot of depth and I’m wondering about what key this song is in? That change is really elevating.
I have watched this movie at least 10 times. Loved Ray’s music since I was a small child in the early sixties. I’m 68 and still feeling the love from this amazing talent and tribute to the human spirit.
My father had me crawling to his stereo to listen to this. Ray was my first artist i ever heard on the old stereo at about 3 or 4. I cant stop loving him.💞😭
I don´t know why people came to hear the King, the Legend Ray Charles and talk about Joe Cocker,I like him too,but it´s a just a good singer,Ray was a Music God.Respect please!!!
@guitarsurfer2010 What a lousy comparison. Ray Charles didnt write the song either. He sang it well but to compare him to Cocker aint right. They had different styles.
We went to Ray's 1st concert live in Tucson in late1987. He came on stage on time. Then played and sang for 21 minutes. He then stood up and his handler walked him off the stage. There was a full house of 3,550 people. We assumed he would be right back. Nope, he was done.
Even now, some 13 years or perhaps more since seeing Ray, I still marvel at Jamie Foxx's performance. He WAS Ray. Incredible. I could hardly sit still at times!
Riiiiight? I saw it as a kid in 2004 but only remembered one scene as it scared the shit outta me (Ray watching his younger brother drown). But I saw it about a month ago and it’s one of my favorite movies
Ray Charles or as he preferred to be called “Brother Ray” was such an amazing music legend. His music came from his heart and soul. He was also such a womanizer. He fathered 12 children from 10 different women. The word on the set was if you want to become a Raelett, you have to let Ray. Lol. Of course he wanted his heart to be unchained so he can get ready for the next chain. R. I. P. Brother Ray.
my old man did a cover of this song. made it his own. so brilliant and a turning point for the African American pop culture. my dad must of idolised him as I do now.
I really can’t believe I’m 12 and into soul and blues instead of any other genre. Saddest part is, I can’t find any of these records anywhere but online. This is a bad ass performance, though!

BIG SINGER AND HIS BIG SONG!!! Ray Charles recorded "Unchain My Heart".on July 5th, 1964
Also gente que odia la segregación: construyamos un estado social a diferentes y razas distintas capitales, luego hablemos de igualdad social si un estado es mejor que el otro para ir a saquearlo.
From the 1964 film 'Ballad in Blue'. From the film's description: Ray Charles stars as himself in this heartwarming story of a blind American musician (Charles) who befriends a young blind boy (Piers Bishop) in London struggling with his disability and with a vigilantly overprotective mother (Mary Peach). Can the music star teach the child - and his family - how to heal? Featuring such iconic Ray Charles tracks as "Let the Good Times Roll," "What'd I Say," "Unchain My Heart," "Hit the Road Jack" and "I Gotta Woman," BALLAD IN BLUE is an uplifting classic drama that is not to be missed.
Lyrics: Unchain my heart (unchain my heart) Baby let me be (unchain my heart) Unchain my heart (unchain my heart) 'Cause you don't care about me (unchain my heart) You've got me sewed up like a pillow case But you let my love go to waste So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free Unchain my heart (unchain my heart) Baby let me go (unchain my heart) Unchain my heart (unchain my heart) 'Cause you don't love me no more (unchain my heart) Ev'ry time I call you on the phone Some fella tells me that you're not at home So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free I'm under your spell (I'm under your spell) Like a man in a trance (like a man in a trance) But I know darn well (but I know darn well) That I don't stand a chance (that I don't stand a chance) So unchain my heart (unchain my heart) Let me go my way (unchain my heart) Unchain my heart (unchain my heart) You worry me night and day (unchain my heart) Why lead me through a life of misery When you don't care a bag of beans for me So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free I'm under your spell (I'm under your spell) Like a man in a trance (like a man in a trance) Whoa! You know darn well (you know darn well) That I don't stand a chance (that I don't stand a chance) So unchain my heart (unchain my heart) Let me go my way (unchain my heart) Unchain my heart (unchain my heart) You worry me night and day (unchain my heart) Why lead me through a life of misery When you don't care a bag of beans for me So unchain my heart, please, please set me free (please set me free) Oh won't you set me free (please set me free) Woah, set me free (please set me free) Whoa! Set me free little darling (please set me free)
You know most singers kept their career going for about 5 to 8 years But shit he kept it going from the late 40s to the day he died not a lot of people could do that
the Spanish version is slower but with a more gloomy sound on the keyboard, and the voice of Alberto Vázquez gives a plus to this piece by master Ray Charles

У Джо Кокера эта пьеса немного медленнее.И у.Кокера мне больше нравится..
Same with me in 18years, I'm 33 and have no regrets
@@Ух-ты-т4л ,сейчас послушал и это реально круто.Другой человек,другая энергия,другая музыка.Но это всё другое звучит очень круто и самобытно
ok but the way the saxophone dude played that amazing solo then walked back so humbly. We love a good saxophone player
David "Fathead" Newman
Ray Charles is a genius, but Jamie Fox’s portrayal of him is awesome too. He looked just like Ray Charles in this Video.
He is not Jamie Fox, the one in the video is the actual Ray Charles
I'm an old fart now,,,,But God almighty, I seen Ray Charles live!
You had lucky
You lucky can see an alien i hope i can too

Hey I’m trying to get my head around theory after playing music for the last 40 years and this song has a lot of depth and I’m wondering about what key this song is in?
That change is really elevating.
My band teacher Mr.J Watkins said practice makes perfect
Thanks for letting me know to study
Just saw RAY for the first time last night. I am blown away at how incredible an actor Jamie Foxx is. RIP to the GREAT Ray Charles.
Jamie Foxx became Ray Charles during filming 💕
I have watched this movie at least 10 times. Loved Ray’s music since I was a small child in the early sixties. I’m 68 and still feeling the love from this amazing talent and tribute to the human spirit.
He was excellent. He deserved the Academy Award.
Jamie Fox is a beloved legend ❤️
Yeah when I watch this video it’s mind boggling how an actor was able to replicate his entire personality and all of his mannerisms
Everyone goes into a trance because his music is art and spirtual.
My father had me crawling to his stereo to listen to this. Ray was my first artist i ever heard on the old stereo at about 3 or 4. I cant stop loving him.💞😭
The best ever. Ray Charles shall never die. I go into a trance listening to him.
I get that trance every day
The voice is really something eh? It’s got qualities I can’t put into words
He died alright.
I don´t know why people came to hear the King, the Legend Ray Charles and talk about Joe Cocker,I like him too,but it´s a just a good singer,Ray was a Music God.Respect please!!!
Both versions are great. Uncle Ray's......a bit better. Quite a bit.
Waldy Jorge Why not? You go over too the Joe Cocker version and all you see in the comments is about Ray Charles.
Joe Cocker's rendition of "Unchain My Heart" is embarrassingly pathetic.
I agree 100%
@guitarsurfer2010 What a lousy comparison. Ray Charles didnt write the song either. He sang it well but to compare him to Cocker aint right. They had different styles.
Unchain my heart, baby let me go it's 2021.

To call him a womanizer is to speak of women as sex objects, more properly he was an adulterer.
God bless his great soul...
Sheesh what a gift Ray Charles. A music legend always and forever 🎼❤🎶🎼❤

Lyrics:
Unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
Baby let me be (unchain my heart)
Unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
'Cause you don't care about me (unchain my heart)
You've got me sewed up like a pillow case
But you let my love go to waste
So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free
Unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
Baby let me go (unchain my heart)
Unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
'Cause you don't love me no more (unchain my heart)
Ev'ry time I call you on the phone
Some fella tells me that you're not at home
So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free
I'm under your spell (I'm under your spell)
Like a man in a trance (like a man in a trance)
But I know darn well (but I know darn well)
That I don't stand a chance (that I don't stand a chance)
So unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
Let me go my way (unchain my heart)
Unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
You worry me night and day (unchain my heart)
Why lead me through a life of misery
When you don't care a bag of beans for me
So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free
I'm under your spell (I'm under your spell)
Like a man in a trance (like a man in a trance)
Whoa! You know darn well (you know darn well)
That I don't stand a chance (that I don't stand a chance)
So unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
Let me go my way (unchain my heart)
Unchain my heart (unchain my heart)
You worry me night and day (unchain my heart)
Why lead me through a life of misery
When you don't care a bag of beans for me
So unchain my heart, please, please set me free (please set me free)
Oh won't you set me free (please set me free)
Woah, set me free (please set me free)
