Gail Greenwood's great. Great stage presence, positive vibe. She's like a much more benevolent Tank Girl. And my strongest memory of the "Now They'll Sleep" video is her utterly Amazonian figure! Who would've thought Belly could have sex appeal?
the kennedy comment was in reference to an episode of Alternative Nation where she continuously mocked Tanya for being too sweet and not edgy enough. It was around Valentine's Day and she had a card with a little kitten on it and said "oh, look. it's tanya donelly." later in the episode the mailbox on the wall came unattatched and the cameraman pointed. Kennedy had no idea what he was refering to and said, "I thought Tanya Donelly was coming out to kick my ass!" LOVE BELLY AND TANYA!!!
Not only did MTV still play music then, but they played music that mattered. It wasn't all these pre-packaged, fast food bands of these American Idol times.
i saw that same tour in Santa Barbara, Ca. Gail was throwing candy into the crowd. when the tour reached Hollywood in the next stop, she was spitting water into the crowd so the L.A. Times put Tanya on the front page of its entertainment section recorded a radio promo commemorating the show.
No kidding!!! Love Tanya, almost as much as her sister. I have 8 of those top 10. I gave up on whiny Seattle bands quickly. I loved AIC through the end and even forgave Stone and Jeff for replacing Andy, but I could only take Cobain for 2 albums. All that "Whoa is me, I'm too famous" crap turned my stomach. Still, anyone who doubts the musical influence of Dave Grohl is a tool.

I met Gail after an L7 show in Tucson. She's awesome.
I enjoyed seeing Tanya and Gail in this! The list of top albums at the time of this show were some really good ones!
