I do love the Airfix Churchill VII, but I never want to build another - about 12 years ago, I was asked to create a set of 'Hobart's Funnies' for a friend, so I made bridgelayers (both types), 'Bobbins', 'ARK' tanks, Anti-mine rollers, mine ploughs, a couple of ARV's, and a couple of different AVRE's I did use some old ESCI and Hasegawa tanks towards the end, as those tiny wheels were doing my head in. 😆😆😆
These are both really good kits to build and are worth the time. I have made the tank transporter, and will soon do another, though in desert colour scheme with an Airfix Matilda on the trailer. The Churchill tank looks fiddly, but everything fits, unlike the Airfix Centurion, Tiger and Panther tanks. However, the Airfix Panzer IV and Grant are good builds
Hi thanks for this video, I been building one of these however I have fitted my mud guards on to the sides of the engine cover. As mine turned out like the front wheels were too wide & I think those mud guards do look like they belong on the cab front. However I just seen a photo of a real one and the mud guards are not attached to the engine cover so i got that wrong my mistake.
@@grahamhurst4613 I never found the instructions completely clear on part 2 there is a choice between A & B , I have used all the parts so I can not see why there is question marks everywhere??? lol. Still a good kit , I just built the Churchill Bridge layer to go on top of her.Another thing I just noticed that basket like container under the cab door is on the right hand side but on the older box artwork it is on the left hand side ??
I agree about the instructions. I am a capable modeller but i am finding it hard to fathom out the positioning of the chassis in relation to the cab. The instructions are very poor.

Your a brave man ! All those wheels. Just bought a book from the Tank museum “vanguard of victory “ about the 79th armoured division

Max the maltipoo I am working my way through the Airfix military range. Looking forward to more challenges
Great job
Thank you the Scammel was a tricky build but worth it

I must admit the Scammel is one of Airfix’s more challenging builds. The instructions were not clear in a few areas

@@jeffreywall8822a bit late to the party but I believe the ? related to colours choices not parts numbers.
Thanks for the tip, appreciate it!

The are instructions are very fuzzy. I did find the kit a challenge. I got there looking at built models on the internet and some real vehicles
@@grahamhurst4613 cheers Graham yes I am doing the same
