- Do you feel like you don't wanna try carving a wood spirit or a bear for your first carving? Perhaps they look a little daunting and you want something easier to get your foot in the door of wood carving?
With this wand carving tutorial I'm hoping to help people who are a bit nervous about carving get a different start, perhaps help those who have tried other tutorials but can't get the hang of it.

I just saw the video of your childrens book, a man of many talents…congratulations and good luck with your new endeavor.🤙
Hey thank you very much, appreciate that!
Hello Clint .I was wand -ering when you would make a foot in the door video on carving😉
I have seen several woodturning videos on making a wand but this carving video is so much more interesting and with some very handy tips and after watching your video have just ordered the knife that you are using , so, here goes at last lol Cheers mate , Bram
Ps I am not on facebook anymore as it was beginning to be too distracting
Haha glad you liked it mate! You'll find that knife useful for many different things I bet. Oh Facebook can certainly be distracting for sure
Thank you for sharing!!
Really easy to understand and inspiring to a newbie carver like me as it didn’t make it feel to difficult!
Hey my pleasure I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@ClintRoseCarving cheers 👍
Now I’m onto a bunch of your past videos to learn some more 😁
Inspired by this video, I’ve gone and had a go at a few hand carved wands myself (and made a video, just released), would love to see what you think!
I've just broken down some shipping crates which held different machines amongst the different pieces of wood was some about 3/4 of an inch square by about 14i inches, long it's straight grained and quite light in weight and I was thinking to myself what could I use it for I know a wonderful come in from the workshop, turn on you tube and see your video
Ah well that's awesome! And very cool to use old wood and create something new, I'm always a big fan of that
Awesome 😎 Thanks for sharing 🔥💜🔥🤘🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
I tried to do this with small carving tools. Watching this video I definitely need a knife
There's certainly things you can make with small tools but I reckon making something like this is easier with a knife for sure
@@ClintRoseCarving I didn't have the chance to pick up a knife so I tried a stanley knife and it works surprisingly well. I'm halfway through my second wand now.
Awesome! Well I'm glad to hear that, I hope they turn out really well
The next time I have to fill in a form and it asks for Occupation I'll definitely write Supremo Sharpening Person. It'll be a lie but it'll feel good to write it down.
Hahaha, I think it's a perfect title! Perhaps Magnificent Maker Man would be good too
@@ClintRoseCarving How about Derring Do Dude? Your turn...
👍👍🍻
