Love how they set up Bigfoot killing Rick all the way back in Ep3 with the Alien that can "maybe predict the future" showing him a drawing of the events.
I'm watching the season again through these guys' reactions, and I realized this when rewatching that episode
It's cool to pick up these details over time and see that other people have done it too
I like to think it was because something predicted it and shown it to Rick, so he actively sought out Bigfoot and contrived some reason for it to kill him in a manner that satisfies and fulfills the prophecy without actually causing true harm to him. Kinda the opposite of the trope about self fulfilling prophecies when trying to avoid them, Rick instead charged headfirst into it to make his destiny true in a controlled scenario. I mean till Morty kinda f'ed it a little.
I think my favorite part is the number of different ways that Morty kills the Vikings. By the time it gets to the impersonal drones it just feels so mean. The icing on top is that they whittled away their warrior spirit to the point they didn't want to fight anymore, which is probably one of the worst things you can do to a viking.
The "throwing things at a wild animal that's become too attached to get it to go back home" trope getting meaner and meaner until it just sounds like they hate him is hilarious.
Nah, vikings lived for one thing and one thing only: getting rich. It was literally just a job, and if they could get the loot without any risk, all the better. The idea of Valhol was just to make the bad days less shitty.
@@SwordTunethis is very reductive
its a "war of clans" game joke
@@GhostInPajamas It's is joke, and a well informed one too. I'm sorry if my humor was too high level for you.
Theres such a subtle story detail here that i love, maybe even a little more cos they don't explicitly say it, but rick killed his nemesis, his whole reason for being, we saw him drunk and depressed and then starting to move on and carry on with life, but then we see this, and to me it rly hits like rick searching for new purpose and goals, like "what's something crazy and borderline impossible? Find the afterlife? Harvest it's infinite power? That should give me something to do for a bit" but cos its rick he solves it In like a couple of days, i hope they carry that on cos the idea of rick searching for challenge and being too smart to find it again in the same way feels like a great plot to explore
After they brought back the Numericons joke three whole seasons after I was hoping the Bigfoot prophecy would also be like an insanely long time to payoff, but having it pay off like this was also very good.
possibly the best non plot heavy episode this season. basically every joke landed for me, more joke variety rather than the last episode that was kinda themed around one gag
This season has been god awful except for maybe 3 episodes, this one was really good. I think this was the perfect way to write Rick interacting with heaven.
The best joke for me is the post credit, with idiot clone Rick being the Pope. Best jab at religion ever. Think about it, not only did the cardinals have to elect him, but they listen to him and it makes more sense than another potential pope... I mean, as you can't understand him he is bound to have a lower stupidities by minute ratio XD
@@MartinWasTaken this season is the best season since season 2
@@adamboldi7913 Reviews for every season agree with me. There is nothing wrong with thinking this is the best season, everyone has their opinion and nobody is right or wrong. But this season has been complete garbage overall.
@@MartinWasTaken nonit wasn't. I didn't said this was the best season. I said this was the best season SINCE season 2. And shy do you think it was garbage? Just because Roiland was fired?
Erik making the Popéball joke right away was very funny
Good to see that Rick getting killed by bigfoot prophecy came back into play
The pillow armor was a reference to the Pillow Troll that Pierce created in the Community Pillow War episode
No fucking way, if that’s true that’s elite
@@Frazzzzzzzz both shows share the same creator
@@FrazzzzzzzzDan Harmon created both shows so it is very likely.
The rabid Rick running around was hilarious😂😂
Best joke is him being the pope at the end. Best jab at religion ever XD
"POOOOOOOPE!!! That gets me everytime. 🤣
More like "poohhhhhhhhhhpe"
Pope, I've come to bargain.
Instead of cloning himself infinite times
Rick could've simply sneak up from behind the pope and cut the cables
Well yeah. But that wouldn't have been funny.
Bigfoot literally mentions this.
It was pretty dumb, seems the show has gotten a bit less smart.
@@Nekotaku_TVor it's for fun?
@@Nekotaku_TVit’s a tv show it’s meant to be entertaining not a science show about the nature of the universe, ricks smarts is just a reason to make up any random technology and have it justified so they can make a more creative show. The whole point is to be entertaining, not teach you. They make up fake science literally every episode.
Dude Eric looks like Bigfoot whooped his ass!!😂
Yeah what happened?
@@sbob. I am guessing he came out the better
Id guess he drank a bit and fell?
There was an interesting theory someone said, Rick knew he would be killed by BigFoot, so he devised the experiment to have it be on His Terms instead of it be an unpredictable death.
4:41 Imagine that Rick's voice actor was paid for wobbling his head while doing voices for mindless Rick.
My favorite thing about this episode is you can literally see Bigfoot Plot B slowly weaving itself within Plot A as soon as Rick said he doesn't care about what happens after it kills him. I was already trying to ding all the ways Bigfoot could become the main character of the episode.
I was actually surprised they tackle the idea of religion/afterlife that isn’t just a one off joke. I like the concept, jokes, and overall the episode. I knew they had to bring back the big foot thing
Loved all the Pope stuff in this, especially Rick dramatically screaming “POOOOOPPPPPPEEEEE!”🤣👏
Nobody realizes this is calling back to the psychic kid from the President episode...?
i havent seen anyone mention it but ther post credits scene is a 1 to 1 recreation of the shang-chi fighting arena
I know it's become redundant to say this, but I really think this season (asides from the last episode maybe, which was still fun) has been a return to form for this show.
I saw someone point out that Rick fighting bigfoot was a prediction by one of the presidents crack team in the unity episode.
POOOOOOOOOOOOPE!
That cracked me up every time XD
Gotta give this episode some credit for properly portraying Norway, they got the police uniforms and police cars correct.
I think the bigfoot ending thing was a reference to Harry and the Hendersons.
it was
@@mjelves yeah
4:50 (±) » Clone Rick just mumbling around and running kills me every time i see it 😂🤣😂🤣😂

“POOOOOPPPE!!!”
9:23, 10:12, 11:32
😂😂😂 Everytime Rick says that it kills me everytime.
Rick also had two crows like Odin
It makes sense on how morty would know how Diane and rick would act because season 5 finale morty got to see ricks download memories including his past with Diane. Therefore subconsciously projecting how they would act around one another while in the whole
Dang, what happened to Eric?
The Bigfoot good bye is a play on the ending of Harry and the Hendersons
The Harry and the Hendersons ending was really on brand.
And the officer’s name in the end credits was Henderson.
Loved it when the vikings kept getting spawnkilled
13:03 Did I just here Mothra’s cry?
I love the fact big foot was trying to chase ricks clone which was acting like a frightened animal
Morty also did tower defence for Rick back in the pissmaster episode. Seems to be something they do often.
Arron saying universal monsters Wher did they come from. And Calvin solemnly replying from the pope. That moment that little moment right there remained me of why I love Rick and morty 😂
hahah I love that you said popeball and then they had that whole monologue about it.
That ending just be a Dark Souls 😂
So that thing that drew Rick getting killed by Bigfoot wasn’t lying
10:55 Pope, I've come to bargain.
Just watched this episode...and really needed a reaction😂🎉
This was the first Dr. Strange movie as a Rick and Morty episode!! Loved it 🤣🤣
Sorry for spoiling the ending but soulless ferel Rick become the new pope make me laugh so hard 🤣😂 that ending was just awesome.
I feel really bad for those Vikings and monsters but at least they got to heaven and can fight forever that's something.
this is the best episode of the season easily
When I think of Rick and Morty this is the kind of episode I think of, hilarious and ridiculous!
Can we talk about Aaron's fresh ass cut?😂 Makes men really think I need one now.
Remember earlier this season with the president the one dude predicted Bigfoot killing Rick
Anybody else caught the WC3 peasant deathsound from one of the swiss guards? 😄
2:10
Season 7 Episode 3: You’re welcome Rick
Am I the only who wants to read the Pope and Bigfoot’s Pokédex entries? LOL XD
So I guess the clone has basic motor functions but without a mind. It's just a weird animal man.
damn eric get well soon
"bigfoot is in summer"
Assassin's Creed Black Flag is still one of the best.
Whats that have to do with rick and morty?
@@leonrussell9607 Just part of what they were talking about, the pope, apple of Eden and Valhalla. They talk about AC 1, 2 and AC Valhalla content. Aaron said he had only really played 2 of the game. Likely 2 of the earlier, and the limitations. Just commenting that 4 is one of the better games with gameplay different from earlier.
And yes, indirectly this episode don't just parody movies, but also games. They apparently once made a parody commercial of Rick and Morty going to the 9 realms God of War style.
Rick became king of two religions
did eric get in a fight or something?
Why is season 2 episode 3-4 missing?
Got copyright claimed. They are on their website for free.
Pooooooope 😭😂 I'm fucking dead
Damn, what happened to your eye erick? That looks like it hurts bad
Funny how rick and morty always does sum with gow before it comes out
😸Please watch Rick and Morty season 7 episode 9. Time stamp 8 min 20 seconds. The agents in black have Bill Cipher logos.
Shang Chi reference
The pope killed them so many times but he said he wasn’t allowed to earlier in the episode
the stupid Rick sound effect was cracking me up
I'm hilarious and I found this Norwegian
Is that fuckin qrow brawnwins sword?
Because it's in they're head. I doubt out of your body is actually out of body. But ay how should I know.
The Monsters were cool
As in Would Wolfman
This one was pretty good. Not nearly as terrible as the last one, but I don't know if I'd watch it again. So far season 7 has been mostly a miss with some severe low points. 4 and 5 were the stand out amazing episodes.
this episode is in my top five. MY top five, an opinion. people can have those.
You can have a bad opinion through
most opinions are@@Dylan-lx5ro
POOOOOOOOOOOPE!!!!
Pooooooooooooooooooope
"This is why I don't follow religion"
Valhala 😂
Modern weapons in Valhalla? Somebody read Walt Simonson thor books
But you’re not looking from the room. You’re looking from the other side 😢
Bro wtf happened to Eric? I hope the other guy looks worse!
Erick’s knuckles aren’t messed up. He didn’t get into a fight.
@@CopperValentinemaybe it was a really one sided fight
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Morty had ONE. FUCKING. JOB!!!!

Kk😊
POPEBALL sounds better. Nice joke.
Rolland literally Is the show . None of the characters have personality anymore
You still overstate his contribution regardless
@@madhursaxena2645 how lol ? Mans was the whole show
@@sleezeb8ll Yeah that's why between season 1 to season 3 he wrote only 6 episodes so much so that he stopped contributing in the story anyhow other than giving his voices to the characters during the production of season 3
0:15 just finished the episode before watching this and I gotta say myself rick and morty is starting to suck. if I do say so myself.
This show sucks now. What happened to the writers?
It’s not the writers it’s whoever’s acting Rick and Morty doesn’t know how to capture their character perfectly
Lmao this is my favourite season nglll, the story beats and comedy just hit better imo, the episode before this was pretty meh but even then it still felt more engaging than most of the weaker episodes from the least seasons
its literally just like every season of Rick and Morty, High high's and low Lows
@@thenicesven5328 This episode was one of the highs for sure.
