A tip for dry lips; I always put a dab of handcream on my lips whenever I use it for my hands (which is whenever I wash them) then top it of with a bit of Vaseline on the lips to lock the moisture in. It's the only thing that works for my seriously dry lips 😊💕

I've literally never cleaned out a tube of product before...both the moisturizer and the salicylic acid are bone dry and I'm doin THE MOST to squeeze out every last bit. Can't wait for Christmas to treat myself to a re-up. Just wanted to thank you again for creating such wonderful products that finally healed my postpartum skin troubles.

hi hyram!! so i have always thought that cleansing balms don’t get the oil and dirt from deep with in ur pores so that is why you have to go in with a cleanser afterwards which i always do but then i heard another creator always saying how this one cleansing balm is good for dry skin and never goes in with a cleanser afterwards. Can cleansing balms actually go deep within and i have been wrong for all my life or am i just getting all confused over a creator who doesn’t know that cleansing balms can’t go drop within the pores? Love you so much!!! 💕💖💅🤞

    Guys I need some advice.
I’ve been watching skin care routines all day and bought some products to try out myself. I’m new to this and the dermatologists where I live, they don’t really care about your skin, they always say there’s something wrong and recommend products from their own brand to make profit off of other’s insecurities. Please tell me if I’m doing it right. I have combination skin but slightly inclined on the oily side.
I wash my face with the St. Ives watermelon cleanser, then I use cetaphil toner which contains niacineamide, then I use 1.5% hyaluronic acid serum (Revitalift L’Oréal) followed by 10% niacineamide and 1% zinc (The ordinary) . I finish it off with my cetaphil moisturiser. I do this twice a day.
Twice a week I use the 2% salicylic acid masque( the ordinary) to exfoliate.
Am I doing anything right? Also, when can I use an exfoliating scrub in my routine?

    • @whyabberoni
      @whyabberoni 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

How is your skin reacting to all of the products? Do you have any extra breakouts? Rashes, irritation, burns? If not and it seems like your skin is reacting well, it's probably okay. You will definitely need an SPF to apply in AM and reapply all throughout the day, though. Sunscreen helps lessen then chance of skin cancer and sun damage. I'd also recommend looking into cleansing balms/oils so you can break up all of the dirt, grime, SPF, oil, etc from your pores and then proceed with your routine. It's not necessary but it can definitely help! Exfoliating scrubs aren't recommended because they're fairly harsh on the skin like he mentioned in the video - chemical exfoliants tend to work more thoroughly, but it's best done on a day where you're not using any actives. If it helps here's my current routine: cleansing oil/balm (currently transitioning from Clean It Zero to The Inky List's oat cleansing balm), La Roche Posay's toleraine hydrating gentle cleanser, Peach Slices snail repair blemish busting toner, Innisfree's green tea seed serum, CeraVe moisturizing cream. I use SPF after moisturizer in AM and about 2 days a week I use Krave's great barrier relief in PM after moisturizer. I also use Paula's Choice 2% BHA 2x weekly in PM after cleanser.

@@whyabberoni thank you so much for your response. I never thought I’d get any help to begin with but I’m so glad you took some time off your busy day to help somebody. It means a lot
      - I don’t have acne, however I do have visible pores on my cheek (like an orange peel but not so deep just tiny holes) and blackheads around the nose and chin area. My skin does burn when I use the niacineamide serum but for a few minutes only. I don’t have rashes or too much redness after application though. I will definitely buy an SPF first thing today.
Thank you for sharing your routine. I’m going to try the same products you mentioned since you know a lot about skin care. I’m not sure if I could buy all of them here in India but I can definitely try some.
Do you recommend the AHA BHA chemical peel from the ordinary or any chemical peel in general? My skin does burn a little when I use my serums but it isn’t intolerable. Is that normal?

@@posieposie4641 oh, you're so welcome! I love skincare as I find it to be a fun hobby haha. Also, if you happen to have Facebook, the group Skincare Fanatics is great! They'll give you opinions you may have on products you're using, help tweak your routine, and help you better understand skin issues you're having (dehydration, dryness, irritation, etc.) If your face is burning with anything, that's your skin telling you it's too much and your skin barrier is being hurt. It may just be too many complex ingredients too soon, especially if you went from no skincare routine to all of these products all at once. I'd recommend going back to the basics and just doing a cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF in the morning/throughout the day, and - if you wanted to - you could slug at night after your moisturizer using Vaseline, La Roche Posay's Cicaplast, or Krave's great barrier relief for a few weeks - morning and night - and letting your barrier heal. Like I mentioned before, I use Krave's GBR as a slugging method about 2-3x a week to help repair my barrier and lock in moisture throughout the night. After a couple of weeks of a basic routine and if your skin seems to do alright, then introduce one serum, only doing it 1-2x a week. After a couple of weeks of doing it 1-2x, if you don't notice any irritation (burning/tingling included) you can increase to your desired amount. After you find a good schedule for one serum, then you can add the second, using 1-2x weekly and doing the same routine you did with the other serum. Personally, I can't do TO's niacinamide because it burned my skin even after a recovery period and doing it once a week. I find that's a fairly common reaction. But also, keep in mind, the products I or anyone else use may not work for your skin because everyone's skin is different. What my skin absolutely drinks up, yours might hate and vice versa. As for the pores, there will never be a way to actually shrink them, though there are ways to make them seem smaller. Most products that promise this effect don't/can't deliver and it ends up being a waste of money. I have large pores, and that's just part of my skin texture that I've accepted. It doesn't harm anything so I personally don't try to change it, but if that's something you want to change I know some people will report that regular vitamin C serum usage helped them. I've never seen that benefit from it, but that's just my own experience. Staying on top of exfoliating every week *may* help with that, as well. I do hear good things about the. AHA BHA peel, but keep in mind you should only use it occasionally. Most people will use it once every other week or once a month. It's STRONG. And it cannot be used with other actives. I'm personally not a huge fan of strong exfoliants like that, but that's also because my barrier gets disrupted fairly easily with things like that, so I just stick with a regular exfoliator. For blackheads, double cleansing helped clear out my pores beautifully! Double cleansing is where you go in with an oil-based cleanser to break everything up (it'll get into your pores and loosen dirt, sweat, oil, SPF, etc - it's formulated to be gentle on your skin and shouldn't cause any irritation or dryness! A lot of people are scared to double cleanse because they think that means using their regular cleanser twice. It's a separate cleanser that, personally, I find very nourishing) and then you follow it up with your regular cleanser. For my oil-based cleanser, I'm using Banila Co's Clean It Zero and transitioning to The Inkey List's oat cleansing balm. Other popular cleansing balms are from: Heimish, Good Molecules, E.L.F, Neutrogena (this one's an oil and I loved it), Farmacy, and Clinique.

@@whyabberoni Thank you so much again for your advice. I looked for these products but they’re unavailable here in my country. I could find Murad and Paula’s choice.
I was excited to leave the house after a long time yesterday so I used a walnut scrub and that ruinedddddd everything for me. My skin feels horrible, it’s rough, dry and no matter how much I try to hydrate or moisturise it, not working at all. I’m learning about ingredients and taking your advice, I’m going to start off again with a gentle cetaphil cleanser, toner and a ceramide moisturiser to restore my damaged barrier. I feel so sad and demotivated now because I went straight back to phase one and worse. My skin looked averagely nice ever since my routine and that one scrub just flushed everything out and made it way worse. I’m just so upset.

Oh no :( I am sorry to hear that.
Unfortunately the mineral spf 30 Sunbum sunscreen tinted and the one without tint are matte. It can be drying for those with other skin type besides oily or normal even when moisturizer is used underneath the susnscreen.
Are you able to use chemical sunscreens? Without experiencing allergies or irritations?
I would recommend chemical susnscreen because there are usually more options for dry skin. 2in1 sunscreens are the best option in this case and sometimes you don't need to apply moisturizer underneath if you feel like your skin is fine without it.
I recommend Sunbum SPF 50 Facial Sunscreen Lotion. $12.99 (Chemical) Very moisturizing makes face glowy. This one burns my eyes though even when I don't apply it near that area. So I have to use a mineral susnscreen on the eyes to help prevent that.
Bondi Sands Face Sunscreen SPF 50 (Chemical). $7.00 on Amazon. I usually use this one for water related or outdoor activities because it is very water resistant. This one is also very moisturizing and makes the face more dewy than the Sunbum SPF 50. No eye burn in my experience
La Roche Posay Double Moisteriser Toleraine SPF 30 2 in 1 with 5% Nicinamide. $20 No eye burn
I also heard Black Girl Sunscreen is a good brand if you're in the US.
The only mineral sunscreens that are a little moisturizing to me are Australian Gold SPF 50. I usually see this one being sold out often in store and on Amazon. They have several tints for each skin type. (Mineral)
And R&R Undefined Sun Serum SPF 50. $28 no white cast at all. The tint on this sunscreen works on most skin shades. (Mineral)
Other than that what is your usual skincare routine like? What other products are you using?
      Hope this helps! 💕

Ok so weird lip moisturizer trick to not have to constantly reapply... tattoo ointment or AD... I had to use it after lip blushing and still use it to this day because it just stays while lips feel and look great

If you give the scrub a 3 out of 10 and then say you took off 2 stars, it should have been 3 out of 5 no? What is this rating system?

I hate those makeup wipes so much. They made my eyes swell up. The lady at the counter told me “you’re not supposed to use them on your eyes.”
A, I didn’t. B, it says safe for eye makeup

Sephora's other lip product, the one in the tube, is much better. I prefer it to the Laneige since that one gave me blackheads around my mouth. I don't love the taste though.

Hyram, you shouldn't use a makeup wipe lightly and then state that it didn't remove everything that you'd like it to remove. ie it can't do its' job unless you use the tool properly.

I didn't enjoy this video. It wasn't a complete routine. The products were random. And you didn't read the ingredients on the moisturizer! This gave me nothing. Sorry 😐 I'd watch something with low rated products from like Stylevana or something. Especially if it was a full routine- face wash, maybe a toner or essence, a serum, a moisturizer and/or sunscreen. Oh! Maybe a low rated sunscreen video...
On a positive note, I ordered a product from your skincare line and I'm so excited to get it!
