I don't think that anyone except Jotaro could really stand up to Polnareff possessed by Anubis. It's essentially two sword-based stands at once. Each with their own unique strengths and gimmicks. Honestly Polnareff is the perfect person for Anubis to possess.

i love anubis sm, it has nearly all of the rare stand traits (integration, being bound to an object, sentience, and user sharing) and being referenced off of the egyptian god is also a plus,, araki did well on this one
Infinite growth potential and the ability to choose what it wants to cut or not. It also acts like Cheap Trick in the sense that a stand user can still wield it but without the downside of also being hurt if the sword is damaged. Imagine if someone with an op stand like King Crimson or D4C gets their hands on Anubis and manages to force it to obey them through fear like Dio did.
Alright, now I need an All Class sword that automatically blocks the attack that damaged him during this life (If splash it reduces damage, if it's not splash then it's reduced to zero), it attacks slowly at first, but with each swing it speeds up. Downside: Less damage, sometimes You move in random direction for random time span, and whenever You die, You won't respawn until someone picks You up.

I think for the worst possible Stand death or retirement in jjba p3 (in my opinion) is Anubis. Stuck at the bottom of the sea to rust and die. Unless a diver picks him up wich i don't think will happen
Something good, it was influenced by Dio, not controled, but was sunk into a salty river, so was in 80's and a few weeks covered in rust but somethung is true, to make other sword with that blade remaining is just polish it to remove all the rust, heat it into liquid and mix it with carbon-steel(or make sure combined with Diorite, material to katanas are made with carbon-steel, and few ones was with Diorite, resulted in hard metal, hard to brake and the blade can cut long times and polish it for few weeks), and make other sword, Anubis then feel shame for all after Dio's defeat(this because was only determited to kill Jotaro and company), and maybe can help others for trying to repair the damage he made(implying Anubis in Egiptian religion is god of death but just attacked sinful people and compain others(depending of the sins if the person was good or not) into their way in death, makes sense).

Even though Anubis is nothing more, but a cursed sword!
