Depends on where the fish butes it but what happens, is when the fish bites down on the middle it reveals the hook. Just securable enough to not get snagged but not enough to miss a fish
Thanks dude... Here in the UK were getting into bass rigs like Neds for perch fishing, so great to get some tips from you guys that have done it for years 👍
Just used a ned for the first time this evening, zman ewg shroom heads and finesse trd’s. Caught a couple dinks and 2lb bass out of a pond that wasn’t hitting a spinner bait or football jig
Caught 8 largemouth bass today 7 which was on a ned rig I decided to try today and it was a success not big bass on the ned but I did land a 3.13lb on the d-bomb
Fished it for the first time today after getting nothing on 2 different locations a dam then ponds then back up the river under a bridge and still nothing 🤣🤣
We have eel grass, which is an invasive species, completely infesting our lake. 2 years ago it was clear but now it’s nearly impossible to use anything that’s not weedless. I’m glad they make these jig heads. I caught my personal best bass on a ned rig.
So what does a ned rig do?Does it make the bait stand up ? How are you to use it in the water? Do you just let it sit on the bottom? Do you jig it around a bit?
Where do you all get your get weedless ned rigs? Haven't seen any and I've gotten caught up and broken off so many dang times without them... This would be a game changer for where I fish
A solid kayak from Native will put you around $2,600 MSRP.. Bonafide $3,200. I got mine both off of FB marketplace for $1,200 and $2,100. What ya did you get?
@@wendellfishing life time Teton 100 angler kayak. It’s the first kayak I ever bought, I tried to do as much research as possible but it’s tough to use in rougher waters. I think I need something longer bc the Teton 100 is only 10 ft. And I don’t necessarily want to go over $800. I know that’s how much one of those kayaks with pedals would be.
What reel and rod is that? I absolutely dig it and am looking for a spinning set up. Was thinking about the Sharky 3 and a KastKing rod but idk if I like all that red. I want it to look good and be what I need 🤣
@wendellfishing I couldn't find the rod exactly, I see the reel is right around the $100 mark which is my max for a reel, but there seems to be quite a good many Yakrod finesse rods.
@wendellfishing I can't reasonanly spend more than $150 on it all together and I would prefer to spend more on the rod than the reel but I'd like to keep it balanced towards the rod. My Dad recently bought a $40 Ozark baitcaster trying to learn baitcasters because he liked the action of my Lews and I can't even get that think to function properly at max. Thing is basically evil but what can you expect for $40 walmart brand?

Not a dumb question... and you are correct. Texas rigging us what you are seeing here. However, This is a weighted EWG jig head for the Ned presentation.
@@carterwight-mcpherson8102 Yeah.. a texas rig as a bullet weight on the line before the hook. You can also have a weightless texas rig where you would just take a EWG hook and throw on a lure. Typically when people say texas rig. It's the bullet weight with a EWG and some type of soft plastic.. usually a ribbon tail worm of sorts but it can really be anything
Got me my first kayak bass today. Round 2.5lbs!
Heck yeah! GET SOME! Congrats
Nothing compares to the first catch from a kayak.
@@Rizzob420i agree but i wasnt catching anything from the bank so im just glad im catching a bunch now with my yak
Congrats buddy! Tight lines 👍
That little "skin-hook" feature to make it weedless is so profound, yet so simple. Thank you! Truly wisdom is of more value than even fine gold. ❤
Heck yeah! Get some!
How does that work exactly? I understand how skinning it makes it weedless, but couldnt it also potentially prevent the hook from setting?

Do the perch pick the ned up off the bottom mate?

I love that little WF decal on your rod, super cool!
O yeah, NEDs rock!
Thanks to Yakrods for throwing it on there :)
The best hook on the marketSuper sharp and very strong

Niiiice!
I have been using the owner EWG Ned jigs with the big TRD almost exclusively. It is purdy darn fool proof..
Solid for sure... I need to get some owner EWG ned jigs.
Thanks, you reminded me I want some in 1/16 oz pumpkin. Just added them into my MidwayUSA cart.
Love those heads & the Z-Man Finesse Shroomz!
I started fishing the ned this year and haven’t put it down. Is there a support group for this?

I see you tweak the hook point also for better hook ups.

Seeems super similar to a Texas rig, what’s the difference? Weight and worm?
Definitely similar. I like putting Zman's or Nikko's on it so that they stick up in the air.
A quarter ? 😂
Yeah.. I meant to say Quarter Inch.. my bad
How much is a kayak with pedals ? I got my first kayak today, it’s a fishing kayak, 10 Ft long but it’s not very efficient in the water.

That's an offset hook texas rigged with a weight to me
Same concept as a Texas rig. Weight on top with the weedless hook. The only difference is the use of non-traditional materials.
