Also, Mark Salling, the actor who played Puck, committed suicide right before going to prison for child porn. Blech. Christopher Jackson is WAY different. I've repeated the ending of "One Last Time" over and over -- it varied from the cast album the most, and it is phenomenal.
Manubibi - There’s a video pulling clips from glee that links the characters to the actors; very sad and unfortunate. Such a good show, but fame seems to have brought out the worst. There have definitely been other cast members that have found post-glee success though!
HumNYC well, it wasn’t really a good show, more like your typical teen comedy but with musical elements... the writing was awful especially from season 3 onwards. As for the cast members... I heard the soundtrack before I was lucky enough to see the play live, and I immediately caught on what the song was about as soon as Angelica started her toast.

Angelica really is that bish though. She put Eliza’s, her sister, happiness before hers. She finally found a guy with a “a mind at work” but she knew that Eliza had to have him instead. Satisfied is amazing but hella sad
Actually, this was creative liberty on Lin's part. In real life, Angelica was already married by the time the Schuyler sisters met Hamilton. But she and Hamilton did become super close; they did love to "match wits." (A. Ham was also really close with Peggy, too, and wrote to her regularly as well.) Apparently, Angelica and Hamilton flirted so shamelessly in public that there was gossip about their relationship. But most historians think it was just flirting.

A little background on "Hamilton"...Lin-Manuel Miranda read the biography of Hamilton one summer and thought it was such an amazing story that he wanted to turn it into a show. He started with the main song that he sang for the first time at an event for the arts at the White House under President Obama (video is on TH-cam). After the successful audience reaction there, he developed the rest of the show more as a "based on the life of Hamilton" than getting every specific detail always correct, because he simply couldn't put everything in. Its kind of like a Cliff Notes version of events that took place in the biography. Miranda had already won a Tony for "The Heights" before "Hamilton", which he then won many, many more Tonies. He also has an Emmy and a Grammy (the soundtrack to Hamilton was incredibly crazy successful!), so he's only missing an Oscar to earn his EGOT (Emmy - TV, Grammy - Music, Oscar - Movies, Tony - Stage). And you should totally check out Weird Al Yankovic's "Hamilton Polka". Miranda is a HUGE fan of Weird Al (like every 80's kid is, thank you very much).
It actually started out as a mixtape about Alexander Hamilton's life, and soon after it became a show. But making a show about Hamilton wasn't the first thing on his mind.
Oh you are a Hamilfan now. 😊 Yes, Daveed Diggs as Lafayette/Jefferson is everyone's favourite. He won the Tony. Anthony Ramos voice is better here than on the album. So sweet. In the 2nd half he plays Alex's son. - He's also in the movie version of In the Heights that will be released next year. Playing Lin's part. Renee Goldsberry (Angelica) voice is so good. I don't know how she sings and cries at the same time. She learned her audition piece the night before, and blew them away. It's SO good. Because it's almost completely sung through, and the music is so good, the cast album can stand on its own as a work of art. Didn't need to see a performance to get the whole play from the recording. The King's spitting? Yah. Ick. Let's pretend it's an acting choice as Groff (also Kristoff in the Frozen movies) is playing "mad" King George who is remembered primarily for mental troubles in later life. Search out interviews with Alex Lacamoire. He was on a couple podcasts. His explanation about the music for Hamilton was fascinating. There are many inaccuracies / dramatic licence in the story. Like Evita vs the real story. IRL Angelica was already married to someone else before she met Hamilton. But the letters between Angelica and Ham can be flirty. Key to Helpless / Satisfied is the rewind - rewind section. It's the same events seen a second time from inside Angelica's POV. Looking forward to the 2nd half. Subbed.
Leslie won for Best Actor in a Musical. Daveed won the Tony for Best Supporting Actor. (And of course Lin won lots of awards for writing the show, etc.)
I am, in general not a fan of hip hop and rap, but on someone's recommendation, I bought the CD's, read the lyrics, and, my God, I thought, this is the most incredible, fact-filled, moving, and articulate piece of musical theatre I ever heard. Last year, I got to see the National Tour in Providence. I never cheered as loudly or vocally as I did that Saturday afternoon. HAMILTON now and forever tops my list of the best shows I ever saw😎✊
Jonathan Groff (King George) is standing like that because the crown is incredibly heavy and if he were to dance around it would fall off lol. I've seen people say it's a choice to show how rigid the king is as opposed to the incredible dynamic energy of the states as well.
I have to say, Satisfied is not really historically correct. Angelica was already married when she met Hamilton. So that drama was added to the musical
I agree with everything you said, Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica) really stole the show and Daveed Diggs (Lafayette) was good too, the whole cast was excellent. I enjoyed how you loved the tea lol Heartbreak gets easier ❤️☀️
5:52 "im clapping for a screen" i mean bruh, same. me literally every time I listen to hamilton I was so excited to see this pop up on my feed, a real treat!
In reference to your comment on genre shifts: it's because each character uses different styles and prose to define who they are. For instance, Angelica, Lafayette, and Hamilton are witty, intelligent characters so they rap in quick, multisyllabic words. Compare that to Eliza who is a lot more melodic in order to express emotion rather than spitting verses out.
The spit is intentional, as a tiny hint to the historical fact that King George III was mad. In the line of Georges for some reason there was something in their DNA that made them lean towards severe mental illness. And yeah, there are hints in letters between Angelica and Eliza and between Angelica and Alexander where it did seem like Angelica was smitten by Alexander, but knew that he and Eliza were meant for each other, and so she held back. There's even one letter where Angelica semi-jokingly asked Eliza to share him with her.

“His spit kinda ruined the song for me” , and when he had no idea that Satisfied is a flashback even though you literally hear “rewind”.... *punches monitor*
Christopher Jackson who played George Washington was also in Moana, he was Chief Tui! And Phillipa Soo who plays Eliza, was in an early Demo of Moana - singing How far I'll go :) She sung that while they were in rehearsals for Hamilton!
the way he immediately knew Wait For It was gonna be his favorite song. SAME. It's such a beautiful solo song and I think it's kind of the heart of the musical. I hate that sometimes it actually gets a little bit overlooked, probably because of how closely it follows Satisfied.
Satisfied, the dramatic song, is about how Angelica felt during the previous song Helpless. And what's cool is the Choreography of Satisfied is the exact reverse of the Choreography of Helpless.
You have to go back to the beginning of Satisfied to see that this song is Angelica’s perspective of when she first met Hamilton. After the “toast” the music & stage literally rewinds.
This is the BEST REACTION to HAMILTON I've seen on TH-cam. Your reactions are so wholesome and how you realized the relevance in today's time is amazing. Hamilton is a masterpiece!
To your question about synchronization, I think as a dancer it's about feeling music a lot. That's a huge part of hitting the movement together - getting a sense of music and listening.
Satisfied is a rewind of Helpless just in Angelica's perspective, it even says "rewind" before it starts rewinding. They do the movements again to sometimes slower and sometimes faster
I experienced the same joy in your face a few days ago. How incredible. I honestly just can’t believe it lived up to the hype. My expectations were so insanely high and the reality surpassed them.

About Jonathan Groff: he is walking like that because the crown is so heavy. Also, the spit is kind of an homage to King George III's descent into madness
I can so relate to all your responses to this! My family and I watched it for the first time this weekend and we were shocked at how blown away we were! My daughter even had hated this before, because she was sick of all her friends at school singing the songs constantly. Now she's hooked!

Groff has said many times that he's just a wet performer. He sweats and spits like a maniac when he's doing love theater.
When he say’s and they’re already getting into another song
*Me - the whole DAMN thing is an song 😂*
I am, in general not a fan of hip hop and rap, but on someone's recommendation, I bought the CD's, read the lyrics, and, my God, I thought, this is the most incredible, fact-filled, moving, and articulate piece of musical theatre I ever heard. Last year, I got to see the National Tour in Providence. I never cheered as loudly or vocally as I did that Saturday afternoon. HAMILTON now and forever tops my list of the best shows I ever saw😎✊
I appreciate this comment.
"i don't expect to be completely blown away"
Me: *laughs cause Blow Us All Away*
Yeah, It's a piece of art and it's so well crafted. So glad they put it on D+.
It deserves to be on A+!

Nasser: "That looks like Puck from Glee! No, it can't be, right?"
Puck from Glee: Died years ago
(ik im late to this comment but) when i heard him say that my jaw dropped 😩
“Wait for It” left me speechless too. The music is amazing and Leslie’s performance is so powerful and nuanced.
Jonathan Groff (King George) is standing like that because the crown is incredibly heavy and if he were to dance around it would fall off lol. I've seen people say it's a choice to show how rigid the king is as opposed to the incredible dynamic energy of the states as well.
Because of the rap and rapid fire delivery, this show holds the record for most words ever performed on stage.
Nasser reacting to actual historical events: why is this so juicy 😂❤️😂
I have to say, Satisfied is not really historically correct. Angelica was already married when she met Hamilton. So that drama was added to the musical
When he said wait for it would be his favorite song I was like, yessir
I agree with everything you said,
Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica) really stole the show and Daveed Diggs (Lafayette) was good too, the whole cast was excellent.
I enjoyed how you loved the tea lol
Heartbreak gets easier ❤️☀️
You should look up "Congratulations" it's a cut song that Angelica sings after The Reynolds Pamphlet
every time i rewatch hamilton and see laurens at the start im like "I WANT TO SEE MY LITTLE BOYYY"
SAME SIS SAME
That awkward moment when Puck from Glee is, uh.....
He got the wrong guy from Glee in the cast lmao
Mélanie i feel like it’s more awkward because puck hung himself cause he was busted for child porn.
finn and naya too...
5:52 "im clapping for a screen" i mean bruh, same. me literally every time I listen to hamilton
I was so excited to see this pop up on my feed, a real treat!
The world needs more videos of people reacting to Hamilton
I concur.
Nasser: I really like Lafayette
Me: *expecting him to freak out at Guns and Ships*
Nasser: *doesn’t even care*
Me: ah.......e......ah......um......huh.
“I love musical theatre! Like a lot!”
*two seconds later*
“Is this a play about rap?”
I don't watch reaction videos but watching someone react to the greatness that is Hamilton fills my heart with happiness. im just happy for him😂
Same. I'm honestly sad for people that see it and don't "get it" or worse the ones who say "Oh, I don't like musicals" or "I don't like Hip Hop" so they don't even give it a chance. I feel genuine sadness and pity for those folks.
nasser: that looks like puck from glee
me: that looks like benny from in the heights
Were you paying attention because satisfied is angelica's perspective of what happened at the ball. Eliza's perspective was Helpless.
If you like this, Disney+ also has recordings of Newsies and The Little Mermaid. Other ones exist out there but none of them are on streaming services. They’re probably on Vudu or iTunes
why am i loving people reacting or watching hamilton for the first time ? Hahaha maybe bec im like waiting for their reactions to a specific drama or what and go like “ yup. “ “ well, wait for the next scene “ “ I KNOW RIGHT ?! “ and like BE PROUD THAT ANOTHER PERSON IS SEEING THE BRILLIANCE OF HAMILTON THAT IVE BEEN OBSESSING EVERY DAY FOR YEAAAARS HAHAHA
Rewatch satisfied, it’s a rewind back to when they first met from Angelica’s perspective.
"I could listen to this soundtrack, forever"
Welcome, we are the people who have been listening to this album "Non-stop" since 2016, we welcome you
I literally just watched this this morning
"i dont see him a lot tho, kinda wanna see him more"
laughs in jefferson
I love u nasser. The greatest TH-camr of all time !!
Work: "This is filling me with so much energy!"
It's Quiet Downtown: "I want to die."
“His spit kinda ruined the song for me” , and when he had no idea that Satisfied is a flashback even though you literally hear “rewind”.... *punches monitor*
Nasser, I fell in love on Friday too.
And the world's gonna know your name, what's your name, man?
ALEXANDER HAMILTON!

"That was a really good line."
me at literally every single line
Christopher Jackson who played George Washington was also in Moana, he was Chief Tui! And Phillipa Soo who plays Eliza, was in an early Demo of Moana - singing How far I'll go :) She sung that while they were in rehearsals for Hamilton!
"I like him he's my favorite"
Same
the way he immediately knew Wait For It was gonna be his favorite song. SAME. It's such a beautiful solo song and I think it's kind of the heart of the musical. I hate that sometimes it actually gets a little bit overlooked, probably because of how closely it follows Satisfied.
"I like him. He's my favorite."
Me too Nasser. Me too.
act 1: "this is amazing, It gives me so much energy"
act 2: literally blinded by tears
Christopher Jackson (the guy who plays George Washington) is actually the guy who sings as Moana’s dad on Make Way :)
It's really funny how most of the cast also has Wait For It as their favorite song. ❤️
"It's the banger"-Leslie Odom Jr
Satisfied, the dramatic song, is about how Angelica felt during the previous song Helpless. And what's cool is the Choreography of Satisfied is the exact reverse of the Choreography of Helpless.
9:43 "imagine having a wife that supportive"
me, a lesbian: preach *sobs in single*
Love how you’re just talking about a moment of silence in the musical and then suddenly realize that Eliza was pregnant 🤣🤣
I appreciated your knowledgable critique and your raw reactions to seeing it the first time! Great balance of your comments and the show too.
Him fangirling over Anthony's voice is a mood
I love the poses the actors make at the end of every song.
I was the same way - I was like I’ve heard about how good Hamilton is - but then watching it I was like this is waaaaay better even than expected 🤯
On the 3rd song it’s already one of his top 50 movies ever
You have to go back to the beginning of Satisfied to see that this song is Angelica’s perspective of when she first met Hamilton. After the “toast” the music & stage literally rewinds.
This is the BEST REACTION to HAMILTON I've seen on TH-cam. Your reactions are so wholesome and how you realized the relevance in today's time is amazing. Hamilton is a masterpiece!
I actually think it’s better on screen bc u can see them so close and see their facial expressions, it’s just divine
When you started commenting on the instrumentation and highlighting the stellar piano work, I knew I was going to love this reaction.
I experienced the same joy in your face a few days ago. How incredible. I honestly just can’t believe it lived up to the hype. My expectations were so insanely high and the reality surpassed them.
Great reaction! I did see it Live and to be honest I was still blown away by the filmed production because I had much better seats.😊
Love your reaction! It's not as obnoxious as some I've seen (which I don't begrudge them. I'd be a loud screecher too haha).
Despite some of the stuff you missed, it's still really great!
your reaction to wait for it, i felt that, that song is absolutely brilliant
I don’t know anything about theater but atleast i could recognize satisfied took place in the past.......
When he said that Chris looked like puck I said "does he not know he is dead" RIP Mark Sailling
When he doesn't realize the whole thing is a song. Literally. I love him.
8:52 just the raw acting talent of Lin is my favorite part of the show
I love Hamilton. I'm from Chile, don't speak very well english, i saw the musical in youtube whit spanish subs, on the recommendation of youtuber Jaime Altozano
and I loved every minute of the musical, especially the song "it's quiet uptown", i cried like a baby xD
Same here, i'm also from chile

Washington is Christopher Jackson, who also played Benny in the OBC of IN THE HEIGHTS, among a HUGE body of work! He currently plays Chunk on CBS's BULL.
The spit from the King was part of the performance.
A part of all of Groff's performances because he is a spitter on stage. He actually wet people in Little Shop of Horrors. It was like a Gallagher show- you needed a raincoat
He said he made sure to drink water right before going on stage . He wanted to part of George’s madness
Leslie Odems voice is pure velvet magic!
This is the first time watching him, and his reactions were amazing, he didn't pick favorites or anything like that and how he can relate, its amazing really.
Sending love💖
I watched Hamilton for the first time two days ago and I can’t get it out of my head. It’s like haunting I literally woke up with satisfied playing in my head
About Jonathan Groff: he is walking like that because the crown is so heavy. Also, the spit is kind of an homage to King George III's descent into madness
Love your reaction so much! Can't wait for act 2!
I can so relate to all your responses to this! My family and I watched it for the first time this weekend and we were shocked at how blown away we were! My daughter even had hated this before, because she was sick of all her friends at school singing the songs constantly. Now she's hooked!
I have seen one Hamilton touring company performance, worked eight Hamilton performances of a touring company and seen this Disney + presentation twice...EACH time my reactions have been like your first reaction. I promise you will be singing the music for weeks.! I kept saying "This is so good!".
Nasser... you’re adorable and incredibly like-able. This is my first video of yours I’ve seen ... the like-ability trait is hard to be taught and you just have IT! I hope you’re a PR or communications major because you have a gift and I literally can see you on TV.
Edit because I got to the part where you said you’re a drama student, equally as amazing!
I appreciate your appreciation of the voices and actors!
"Call me son ONE MORE TIME" is where the show really got me, like from liking it alot to being obsessed. Lin-Manuel may not have the voice that the rest of the cast has but he acts the absolute SHIT outta this, he's so good.
I have to admit, I eventually got to the point I wanted to scream in your face "HE'S NOT FUCKING PUCK FROM FUCKING GLEE, LET IT FUCKING GO ALREADY!"
this is my new favorite video ever, i can't stop smiling, i love Hamilton so much
So many times I had to rewind ten seconds just to listen to the wonderful lyrics again
Bro, awesome content. Seriously, your editing is on point. The audio transitions are top notch! Well done.
