Another great video. Jim is my neighbor. When I was 14, he used to drive past us kids on his KZ750 doing 130mph while we waited for the school bus on his way to work. We anxiously waited with great anticipation for Jim's "Fly By" each day.
You never know who has amazing stuff in an old building ! Who would think Jim had these gems in his barn if ya met him on the street . Wow what an amazing person he is . The stories he tells I can see why he's just fun to be around . He's entertaining and a good friend of theirs . Next story jims cat on a hot car roof lol
Jim has some good friends. Jim is also a caring person who is very honest, hardworking and very skillful and intelligent. I really enjoy this type videos. Please do more. I think these type of car guys who collects and rebuild these old car is becoming fewer and fewer. These type videos catch the feel of real people who care and enjoy each other. Thanks

Can’t help thinking , I hope nobody took advantage of Jim’s lovely nature... personally I would have made him except a fair offer on the bits and pieces that Chad’s friend found after Jim told him “you can have them”.....the world needs more Jim’s in it.... god bless you Jim .
They did cut a deal for everything that went out the door. Everyone went away happy
We all like a bargain but knowing Jim’s financial position and the true value of that rare Hudson truck offering a bit more but still securing an under value price would have been the thing to do.. those guys can clearly afford it I’d imagine. Same said for the small items
Jim needs to take some advice before selling more things.
I’d hope Jim would get advice next time. That guy with the parts took advantage of Jim’s good nature.

That particularly ski doo is a Olympic 370 with an aposed 2 cylinder that was only available 1 year. I would say in that condition it would bring a good buck. I wish I could be there thanks for showing us.

I feel like that guy (not Doug) took advantage of Jim a bit there. Given the free tour and Jims need of finance, he should have been over generous with those small parts. I just think that would have been the right thing to do....

Man, now I see why everyone LOVES Jim!! The man is a true representative of how almost all men, in the deep south anyways, handled themselves by just telling THE TRUTH!!! That's my opinion and my experience growing up. He could have been blowing smoke up everyone's rear end on this truck but he didn't. There's a saying by Dorothy Parker, "If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to." Something to think about!!
What a lovely guy, I’d love to spend time talking with him. That Hudson would buff up really well in the hands of a professional detailer. If it wasn’t so far away (U.K.), I’d have loved to buy it, my ‘32 Ford would be more than happy to have that for company. Thanks for sharing Chad, I thoroughly enjoyed watching & listening and it took me back to my time in Canada, working at a body shop many years ago 👍👍👍🇬🇧 🇨🇦 .

I have only seen a 1946 Hudson pick up truck once in Florida, U.S.A. at a car show in Crystal River, Florida, U.S.A. back in 2002 and it was missing the super six engine. That is a very rare find to buy!

Super cool video. You see how it goes. $5 worth of cat food, and nice hello scores hundreds worth of parts. I couldnt tell you how much stuff I have gotten for a couple of cups of coffee, a candy bar, or a pack of smokes. Good deals were done, everyone happy and got something out of it. Well done.

He did pay Jim. $50 for the magneto, and another amount, I didn't see how much, but they were both happy with the deal for the tanks and box of emblems etc. He is also coming back for windshield frames etc. Jim was happy with all the deals.

That cat food dude had many surprises in his barn. Plus, he had thousand of hours in that truck if he even did half of what he said. Wow! Then here sits a Ferrari that Tom Selleck would feel at home just sitting in it. Does my heart good to know cars and trucks of all kinds are out there.

Well, Jim admitted at the end that he had wanted 24 thousand for the Studebaker pickup and he let it go for 1/2 price of 12 thousand so I think Doug got a very good deal on his purchase.
A 1/2 hour on the Internet and Jim would have got his 24 thousand and would have had people coming from great distances to fight over it, but he is so damned kind that he let it go for what Doug offered. You could see that Jim did not really want to accept Doug's offer, but Jim is a very humble man who simply refuses to fight over anything. Not even for a decent price for what belongs to him. Personally I think 15 thousand would have been a reasonable bottom dollar offer.
There is a place in the Bible where people like Jim are mentioned and it says that the world is not worthy to have even known them. - Hebrews 11:37-38. A guy who would spend all he has to keep his cats well fed and protected and who would sacrifice years of labor to not offend someone who wanted what Jim had built.
Ir's a Hudson, nor a Studebaker. But I agree Doug low-balled him.
