- The notion of living on the canals of England had always been a hopeful, romantic ambition for the future. We knew nothing about life on the canals apart from watching TH-cam, Rosie and Jim and gongoozling on the towpath, we had never even stood aboard a narrowboat.
Then whilst living and travelling in our motorhome and as a result of Brexit we had to get out of Europe, so we returned to England. The "Covid effect" has played a huge part in redefining peoples plans and as a consequence the sales of narrowboats has gone through the roof and boats were selling fast.
Anyway we found the Jeremiah Lee and it was love at first sight. Desperate not to miss out, we bought it there and then without even a survey, we grabbed it thorns and all.
Within hours of taking ownership little things cropped up, only little things such as there wasn't enough gas to boil a kettle, the 600 litre pump out toilet was full and when we set off to empty our tank, the propeller came off!
This episode - A Boat Full of Secrets is the start of our project to make her comfortable for our life aboard and our journey around the cut.
Just daft or dangerous we have to put things right... Let the mayhem begin...!
We are Martin and Donna and our Vizsla dog Dylan (star of the show). Our vlogs are a sequence of life aboard whilst making alterations to our 2002 built, 65 foot live aboard boat. Living on a marina and within it’s lovely community in Worcester and this gorgeous part of England.
Our “Progress report” is a weekly update with footage of work we are carrying out.
“Away from the boat” section is where we showcase the bucolic English countryside in and around Worcester.
Our “Q’s & A’s” is our opportunity to discuss any and all questions our viewers ask and address any comments made with a free rein.
“Pix of our Pix” is our stills gallery. and a montage of the flora and fauna to be found locally, the distinctive architecture of middle and historic England and plenty more miscellany.
All put together with our own spin of life in general and our twisted sense of humour.

Yes, indeed, it is going to be a mini fit out and due to the weather not being so great we are hoping to look at making a start inside. Latest update on our narrowboat build they’ve stated fitting out the inside. Looks more likely to be completed end of August 🤞. Look forward to seeing the painted bow Donna x

Once again glad you enjoyed our recent vlog. The heat was rather challenging and our most important job was keeping Dylan cool. He's back to his normal, energetic self today now it's much cooler. I expect you are getting really excited about your narrowboat build and we can't wait to see it.
Alas, you may have to wait a bit to see the painted bow due to the weather forecast not being great. I think we are going to look at doing some work inside - perhaps one side of the galley. No rest for the wicked aye!!

I must say, the dog is much easier to train than Martin - he just doesn't seem to grasp the command 'no' and will just stay for one more beer! He has, on the other hand, mastered the "get me some chocolate" command very nicely indeed so I can't complain.

I had some computing problems which i have now resolved so will get the vlog out when we left the marina for the last time.
Weve been cruising for 6 weeks now and with your encouragement we fully intend to start putting our continuous cruising vlogs out more frequently.

It's good to hear from you again. We love your sense of humour and had a giggle at the thought of you swimming round in circles. Martin thought attaching a rudder might help :).
We are staying at Diglis Basin in Worcester which has a very friendly and helpful community. Donna has always wanted to be able to hear the church bells ringing from her home and is now lucky to have her wish come true with the sound of the Cathedral bells. Worcester is a wonderful city which has an abundance of beautiful walks for our boy Dylan.
Our next vlog will be out next Friday at 6pm, so happy viewing and chat soon.

Thanks for your comments we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback about the audio quality. We are new to vlogging and still have very much to learn. Hopefully, now having purchased a new camera we will be able to address the issue and provide you with a much better viewing experience. Hi Larry,
Yes, like many of us, Dylan was suffering from this really hot spell. We made sure he went out for his walks at the cooler times and he enjoyed being able to swim in river. For when he was on the boat we had a fan positioned especially for his benefit. His happiness and wellbeing is our number one priority.
