so glad this isn't just a showcase for models/maps and instead they're tools a lot of devs may need

I would like to add "FEEL". It's the best and quickest way to implement all the different FX, particles and "juice" to a game. Super reliable and supported. I really do think everyone should give it a shot! Thanks for the awesome video as always.

Odin Inspector + Validator is a must for me in every project. I also started ALINE for gizmos. It's super versatile and performant.

Everbody says Odin Inspector is a must have, but I don't get it. The Unity Inspector really is good enough, at least for a solo dev. Plus, there are more lightweight assets like NaughtyAttributes which already help alot and require 0 time for getting used to it.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations, didn't know about some of this assets 🙏 Especially Node Canvas looks very interesting

I would add to that: UniPool - Advanced Prefab Pooling. From the name... well... it's a really good pooling solution that let's you pool prefabs and cache their components, all in same pool, no need for separate pools per object type. Super fast and convenient.

Regarding loading up on assets like sfx, vfx, etc. I would also recommend Asset Inventory 2 . This tool will index all your assets (downloaded from the assets store or from anywhere else) so when you for instance need a gun shot sfx, you can easily search across all your asset libraries.

In addition, personally for me Easy Bookmarks asset helps me a lot in all of my projects - it incredibly speeds up the development

I liked the look of Node Canvas - Didn't know if I wanted to drop £45 on an asset as a very hobbyist "developer" - turns out I already own it! So thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm currently animating my character movement, so a behaviour tree/state machine visualiser is going to help massively!

I am using Final IK for steering in my car game also. It is good for doing full body VR stuff. Maybe I will get the Flat kit from your recommendation. I have their anime shader but couldn't get the look I wanted with it.

Regarding the SFX packs, just don't buy off Unity asset store.
There is consistently 2 major issues with the cheap SFX asset store packs...
    1. The seller does not have the actual rights (you might as well have just stolen the asset from somewhere).
    2. The SFX are repetitive, too simple (ie 8bit sounds or household noises you could make yourself) or just low quality.
I was previewing some of the SFX from this pack (from a 10 year old video!) and they seem to fall into the 2nd category. So out of 10k sfx maybe you get a few SFX here or there but the chances of most of them being useful is very low and the value is not nearly as good as it looks. If you need quality SFX just go to companies/websites that specialize in sound. Like I think sounddogs seems pretty viable because you can pay per sfx. There are also a few free packs floating around with varying quality (like GDC soniss packs).

    Great video!
I'm not too familiar with IK and have only worked with the Unity's Animation Rigging package so I wanted to know is Final IK really worth it?

It's a pity you show the assets on the store at their full price instead of the 50% off deal you're partnering with Unity to highlight
